Collectivist thinking is the opposite of freedom forcing the joining of group all their inclusivity is exclusivity: group member first individuals second, group status first talent second. Irony is they generalize and marginalize a group while saying they stand against generalizations and for marginalized groups. They prioritize a certain type usually chosen by race, gender, and political discrimination and they don't value what they deem to be "other" to itself. All their words about love ALL, freedom, change is about self-branding NOT truth - just the virtue signal, selfish, humble brag pretense buzzword club. Group member first Individual (the smallest minority) second, others need to be worth less for them to be worth more, while they tout war rhetoric about crumbling walls melting pieces and talk of a new world order which shows who is really marginalised. @@utrak I usually carry the Cold Steel Voyager XL clip point. I’ve carried one for years. The 4 Max Scout probably weights a bit more than my usual daily carry knife. Yup, I just compared them and it does seem a little heavier. But they are both about the same width. The Scout is maybe a smidge thicker. Likely because the Voyagers have nested liners and the Scout has thicker blade stock without nested liners. But when I carry the Scout, it doesn’t seem all that big in pocket to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve carried big knives for so long I just don’t notice it as much. I’ve got the Rajah 2 and the Espada XL. I can carry the Rajah 2, though it’s not really comfortable. Too much sticks out of the pocket. I tried to carry the Espada XL a few times, but it’s just ridiculously annoying to me because it’s such a huge knife. Personally, I think if I really want to carry a knife, I would figure out a way to do it. I carry my Voyager XL in my right hip pocket, not a front pocket. Wallet goes in my left hip pocket. That way I balance out. 😂

A knife is meant to do several things but mainly cut (String, rope, and primarily meat) it is not and should never be used as an axe in any form. Knives are a combat weapon, I have never seen one that can go undamaged otherwise. even with a strong spine it can and will get damaged over time and it will fail when you need it the most. I loved the video. Some people taper the tang to lose weight on the handle to help balance the knife and also instead of one large hole, drill smaller holes. The smaller holes also allow for epoxy to have more surface area to help hold the scales on. If you did a combination of tapering and small drilled holes, the tang would be just about as strong as a full un-tapered tang.

There are very durable epoxies on the market. If DBK is still considering bonding the handles, I highly recommend G-Flex epoxy. It is marine grade waterproof and is extremely impact resistant. Ive been using it for all of my custom knives since I tried it almost 10 years ago. It’s awesome stuff. Always a good idea to glue and screw handles both for strength and to keep moisture away from the tang. Less of an issue with elmax, but still a consideration. Hope this helps even though it’s 8 months after the video came out.

Awesome video, I Love the punishment @joex releases upon products (and himself) in his videos, very entertaining at all angles, as well as @DutchBushcraftKnives for your testing methods (including BESS tester), production, and personality, none are just another knife review, and the years of experience from both channels is evident. Thank you for this. I'm curious about the monthly giveaways, are they just for patreon supporters, and if so, what tier level gains entry into them? Inquiring minds wanna know. 🤔😁

Thank you so much for your kind words! The give-away is for patreon supporters who support $10 or more. It started out as an appreciation for the support but now i think most people join because of it hahaha.

@@DutchBushcraftKnives, I kind of knew, because you've put it in some videos in the past, but my Honey asked me about it this week, and I didn't see anything spelled out in your description of the last few videos I watched, so I figured I'd confirm it. She's the one who asked why I haven't become a patron to be entered into the giveaways. She's always secretly watching and giggling behind me on the couch while I watch hours and hours of videos from the recliner, haha. Thank you for your reply.

the materials that perform best under Joe X's extreme torture tests appear to be skillfully worked 1055 and 1075 steel. also he was not able to break the monster slayer, Hemlock Ares, until he shot it with the 5.56 rifle, shattered it like glass.

I initially didn’t like Joe X’s testing, but his videos are really entertaining and he engages with his audience. He’s actually pretty nice. The tests themselves definitely help to show the limit of knives, even if they’re not as scientific as I’d like when people will come to conclusions based on them.

one way of making the blade sturdier is to taper the tang. That way you could save on the skeletonization but it would make the knife alot more expensive.

You should use AUS-8 for your knife. It's new supersteel according to Joe

Joe X is hardcore. Your knife did very well. Mickey's reaction to feet though is pure comedy.
