Yourself and Sara have more patience and positive attitude then I have ever seen. Have you ever thought about more stand locations to target later food sources or hunting the swamp edges up there? The deer in Pennsylvania love swamps for cover and food. I can see you are dealing with low human pressure but have wolves. Anyway, I also wanted to say the harvest video rules! The 400 yd 30-06 shot is epic. I am patiently awaiting your upload for 2018 deer season!

I love being at "deer camp" it's an exciting time and time I get to spend time with my family (whoever can make it) and we all have the same thing in mind. Deer or no deer its always a great time. I admire your enthusiasm during a lean year for deer. Damn wolves. I suppose if you travel over 3 hours to your camp, I would hunt the hell out of it too! My camp is only 10 miles from home and I take it for granted. We're in the middle of our 9 day gun season in WI and it's been rough. The weather is not cooperating, too much snow now. Answer to previous question: LP lanterns are safe indoors. Question: How do you go through all that food??? Keep it up, can't wait for ice fishing!

C Caples I have lots of videos with my Daughter Sara in them and some here as well as on my other "Northern Seclusion" channel with my girlfriend Melissa in them. I am in Sorrento Louisiana right now and am loving this mid 70s degree day, its 14 below at the tent right now. If you watch "The Backwoods Cabin" series of videos you will see that my Dad has that cabin which is near the tent. I can walk there from the tent. He stays at my folks cabin and I stay at my tent which in a couple years will be replaced with my own cabin. Thank you. Joe

Just curious about what people in other parts of the country use for deer. From watching your other sight in video, I know you have the Winchester featherweight in .30-06 and use 220 grain round nose bullets or your Ruger M77 in .243 win with 80 grain spitzer bullets. What kind of rifle & make and what caliber & bullet weight did George use? What rifle & caliber did Sara use? I just find peoples choice of rifles and hunting knives to be very interesting, especially if they have a strong belief or reasoning for carrying them. Even if the only reason is because of nostalgia or an heirloom.

@JoeandZachSurvival
@JoeandZachSurvival 8 жыл бұрын
+Rich Richie I have had many wolves in the tent yard, wolves are all over up there and I see them quite often. As far as the chickens go are yours at least 6 months old? it takes time for them to lay and when they do they usually lay fairly regularly. Incubation tips you can find online everywhere and they also come with your incubator when you buy one. Its pretty simple once you get past the fact that it is not complicated. 99.5 degrees for the allotted time needed with whatever you are incubating etc. Thanks Rich. Joe

Hi question. You talk a lot about wolves. Is it illegal to shoot them during the deer season. In Pa we have coyotes and when deer season comes in then that’s when we manage them. Just wondering if it’s legal to shoot them or not. It would definitely make your hunting better to thin out some of the wolves.

LOL, how do you function after eating 3 times a day especially those meals that you show after each session in the stand, If I ate that much I would fall asleep as soon as I sit down regardless of where I was at the time, I have been known to fall asleep after climbing into a tree and sitting on a limb, no safety harness no platform, nothing. A hunting buddy walked 4 deer below where I was at and he waited for a shot to ring out and nothing, he came to the tree where I was and seen me asleep, still baffles him to this day why I didn't fall out of it LOL

Do you bowhunt or have a primitive firearms season?

Mark Lee I do not bowhunt but may do that in the future. I never have the time to do the bow hunting right now. We do have a muzzle loader season and I do own one and have hunted that season in the past. It starts a week after rifle ends here.

Joe, is it safe to use those propane lamps indoors?

What would the difference be between the propane type and the Coleman fuel type of lamps? They both put out Carbon Monoxide. I haven't heard of anyone being overcome by either type IF they are in working order and the area has plenty of ventilation. I am sure that the cabin is not completely airtight, so in essence the use of the lanterns are perfectly safe, besides they aren't used on full lighting conditions when sleeping, they are either turned off or turned way down low. By the way my name is Jerry too LOL

itsjussjerry If it was tightly enclosed I would maybe watch it a little bit but I have air openings on each end of the tent at the peak just so I do not have to worry about that. They also let moisture out as well as if the woodstove ever smokes in a bit it lets that out also. If your waiting out a storm in the bathroom with the door closed and two lanterns going I would be concerned but not at the tent. Thank you.
