Nah I'm a worker at a bbq pit, and I've had many odd costumers. One of them came in asking for a doordash (we were working on it at the momment), so I had told him we'd get out in a sec. We had an open kitchen, so it was unnormal for guest to watch us prepare the meats, but usually doordashers sat at a table and waited for us to complete the order; however, this guy proceeded to watch me prepare the meat (which is completed fine, I was nervous him standing there but you'd get used to it). I pulled out the pulled pork and as I was making it the guy goes, "That's sad." I respond (no kidding) "Sorry- what?" Only for him to repeat himself. This was weird take on making the food, but I shrugged it off. Then he asks, ``Do you have any vegan options." I was stunned lmao. Now that everything made sense with the pervious question I was prepared for a soon to be awkward conversation. Especially since before this he had been just watching what I was doing with no comment prior to this. I respond telling him that nothing here is vegan and that it either has meat or dairy. . I was half tempted to look him in the eyes and say, " Sir this is a bqq place." But I held my tounge. After another long silence I pulled out the beef brisket. Then he goes, "That looks really good." BRO- I WAS SO CONFUSED AT THIS POINT. Usually after this we allow doordashers to have a sample hoping they would come back, etc. So being a good worker I offer him some to his response being, ``Oh no- I'm vegan." Like I assumed but what was with the pervious comment LMAO Im was so confused. I just wanted to finish his order so he could leave. Afterwards he goes in depth and tells me what if it were the animals eating us, how would you feel? I just replied a dumb answer like, "I NeVer ThoUghT of It Like ThAt," just because at this point I was annoyed and wanted him to leave. Normally I would've replied that animals already do eat us, and thats the story of life, but what can I say- costumers are always right x-x Nah after he left with his food I told my coworker and we were both dying.

I used to know someone that owned a farm and the way they killed their cattle was done in a kind of swing type thing so the cows would feel like they were being hugged so they would relax and go comfortably. I hate the argument of farming animals doing ecological damage when the argument applies far more to veganism, the amount of environmental damage caused by some of the horticultural that goes on to feed these people is insane. These people would have to farm and grow entirely locally, local plants, local fertilizer, local water. They would have to do that in order for any argument of theirs to stick
