10:04 i remember my dad (a white American) telling me this story about the different prices that venders would sell you based on what race you are. He was living in Tunisia and had a friend who bought a bag that he liked, so he asked him where he got it and how much it cost. His friend told him what would be the equivalent to about 26 US dollars, so he thought it was a good price and went down to the shop to buy it. When he asked the vender how much it was he told him it was 60 bucks, and my dad was shocked and went back to his friend explaining what happened. His friend asked him if he spoke to the vender in English, to which my dad said yes. The friend tells him to go around to different shops and speak different languages and see the price difference. Sure enough that's what he does, he goes to the first shop, speaks English, 60 bucks. Goes to the next shop, speaks french, 40 bucks. Finally he goes to the next shop and speaks Arabic, to which he was offered the price of around 26 bucks. So my dad explains to him that he had gone to different shops and received different prices for the language he spoke. The vender acknowledged this and told him it was true and that depending on where you come from, he would charge more or less. Just thought that was interesting
