What happens when you just say ‘yes’ to everything? What happens when you ask random people to join you, when you’ve no idea what you’re asking them to join? Danny Wallace asks these kind of questions, and boy, does he get answers. Danny joins James O’Brien for a witty and revealing interview about his his early days working with Ross Noble and The Mighty Boosh, having Jim Carrey play a version of him in a movie, and his undying belief that people, on the whole, are good. We also dive into Join Me, Are You Dave Gorman?, Random Acts of Kindness and Awkward Situations For Men | #Unfiltered

What a positive interview. Danny should be a motivational speaker. You just wanna go and do stuff after listening to him. Thanks to both. x

The way he trys and puts down Colin Bryce every strongman I disagree about him being a motivational speaker I'd say stick to being a hateful person

A whole decade after first reading YesMan and It's still my favourite! I ended up riding a wild board in the outback of Australia, capsized a canoe in a river of crocodiles in Belize and made an amateur Japanese Porn film in Japan, all because of this book. The list goes on. I'm gonna give it another read now!

I'm really interested by what Danny says about the tv shows feeling like they were a different version of him. I was about 14/15 at the time and obsessed by his books, and used to get so excited if I saw he was on a telly show, and then inevitably I would be a bit disappointed by it.

I've got a horrible feeling that I have (not for the first time) ordered a Danny Wallace book twice, because the title (but not the content) has changed. "I Can't Believe You Just Said That" and "F*** You Very Much" are the same book. Rather a shabby way to treat fans.

I thought Shaun was voiced by Stephen Merchent

They do sound a little similar, though I'm not sure Stephen Merchant's style of humour could've pulled off Shaun's snarky comments. Then again, I could be wrong! We'll never know, but I am glad it was Danny who got the job.

I bloody loved this interview. I'd forgotten (because the world is burning to death and you know, anxiety) how much I love Danny's work. That was a trip down memory lane. Thank you Danny. I'll look forward to the next project, ha

Well i love each and every one of these James O'Brien interviews usually BUT..... i can normally relate stories from each interview to friends colleagues in general conversation; this one i still dont know who or what Danny Wallace is, i still dont know why i should need to know him. hes not someone i could feel an affinity with or even want to get to know or like. i feel James has let us down.

I'd suggest reading Join Me and Yes Man, they're fantastic reads. He just goes on adventures, and tells the stories really well.

Jaymzmiller what I'm saying is that this was a very poor interview. It's not Danny's fault, I don't think. Nothing positive came out of it, it was an very uninteresting interview

I see, yeah I can understand that. Personally I've loved Danny's work for more than a decade so this is a cool behind-the-scenes for me, but for someone who doesn't know him, I can see what you mean.
