To be honest I wasn't that impressed when I first heard this song (original version), I didn't believe it worth all the hype. I felt like something is missing in the song... But today I finally get how good this song actually is, thanks to all the artists you mentioned. Especially 腾格尔, he is in another level, he can drag me into that world within a second. I think his version is much better than the original one. The original version interpretation is like telling a story gently and its a very signature style of Eason. No shouting, no super crazy dynamics but his vocal touches heart even deeper with this unambiguous singing style which brings out the story of strength in a juxtaposed melancholy. It fits most lone warrior's POV where they would never want fame and stage lights on them, just being themselves and blend into the background as a supporting role is a manifestation of strength. It can only be felt by calmness. 最深刻的力量不是来自于嘶吼，而是风雨过后漫不经心沉着地用平淡的语气述说着最为感动. Within calmness, there lies strength. Eason's other songs, especially 好久不见 (So Long No See) portrays the same juxtaposed emotion where the revisitation of old memories and people was dealt with just a soft spoken question “How are you recently?" while in his heart very emotional yet he does not manifest in intense crying but instead he gave a smile to the people he love the most. Like how we would want to remember our loved ones who passed away. This song lyrics author Tang Tien, was battling cancer. Feeling alone in this battle, she understands only Eason can bring her same interpretation of this song, that why she pinpoint only Eason to sing this song but not others singer. Hope it would change your mind/understands how the original song is sang that way after knowing even deeper about the details of the story.

Wow really great comparisons. First listening to u deconstructing the components of these pieces are so interesting. Its like training your ear to learn what you hear! Thank you Joe😊 💓 Secondly with the duos covers, are very fitting to deliver the concept. in the case of Phoenix, the female vocal mostly dominates their work, but somehow this version their harmony brings out the ying yang concept and the vocal tension btwn the two, which is similar to psyche of the song. Thirdly, the showcase of diff. instruments with the same song really evoke different feelings, the one that got me the most was the violin, because somehow it aligned with the intense despair of the intro. But of course, all of them are grrrreat ☝️ like u said 🥰
