Eddie never skips a beat, maintaining the vibe for Dave to fit right back in, but Dave is so fuckin full of himself-and jacked up on coke-he never realized it and then wanted to start the whole damn song over. Only concert I ever walked out on was VH back in 2015 in Houston (CWMP). I was completely fed up of the rest of the band doing Dave’s job of carrying the lead vocals (on top of harmonies) while he showboated. Van Halen & Van Hagar still my all-time favorite band, hands down. I watched this vid just to see if the 2015 concert was a fluke. Nope. Such a disappointment. Fuckin Dave. Smfh

Absolute professionalism from David Lee Roth.. I'm speechless!!! I'd heard about this incident on live TV but it is my first time viewing it and I gotta say this is where the old phrase; "The Show Must Go On" comes in. That's live entertainment at it's core.. You never know what can happen.. Like a true professional Roth used every bit of his focus to not miss a beat with his vocals. He handled the situation extremely well.. Many musicians would have stopped everything. However,, keeping with tradition it doesn't matter what happens you must keep the audience entertained and discuss the details later. . You all just witnessed one of those exceptional moments in Rock & Roll History. . We hope Dave's ok and all of us can certainly appreciate a brief glimpse into the world of entertainment when live TV doesn't cut away to commercial.. 👍😎✌️

All I can say is I’m sooooo glad I was alive in the timeframe I’m from when the almighty Van Halen were in their PRIME running full speed, releasing new albums for us fans in the early 80’s and I was right there at the record store the day the albums came out and burning up through those old cassette tapes and flying through battery’s on my Walkman going def and not being able to get it loud bough LMAO. miss you soooo much Eddie. Can’t believe you’re gone. RIP and thank you to this band for all the amazing memories from the 80’s. Greatest band ever created. RIP Eddie, 👍👍👍👍😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏

So true....especially going deaf and still not being able to get it loud enough. I have hearing loss today (as no one wore earplugs at concerts back then), but I wouldn't trade it for the memories of seeing so many of those bands live while they were in their primes and rock-and-roll still existed! My high-school summers were filled with working during the week at McDonalds to have the spending cash to see a concert almost every weekend at Alpine Valley. And the winters were spent camping overnight in front of the same record store on frigid Wisconsin nights to get the best tickets I could months ahead of the shows. To this day, I still have most of the ticket stubs to prove it and reminisce. I still remember being at what would be Stevie Ray Vaughn's last performance ever, learning the next morning that he had been killed in a helicopter crash the night before. I'm a physician now and wouldn't trade ANY of it for those thick and incredible memories and experiences.

For anyone reading this who DOESN'T know, the Texxas Jamms were an all day, and into the night, HARD ROCK concert held once a year. Yes, that's what we called it back then - HARD ROCK. NOT "classic" rock, or ANYTHING else. (You can't see me, but I just rolled my eyes.) It was HARD ROCK bcuz it was edgy, and it was ROCKIN' HARD! And only THE BEST Hard Rock bands headlined too. THAT was a requirement! Van Halen played more than one, if I'm not mistaken! And yes, Van Halen was ALWAYS EVERYTHING you could ever dream of in a hard rock band!!! No Stopping Them Now was more than just a lyric!!! AND those Jamms were always in the middle of the Summer, in Texas, which meant the Summer temps were Hot As Hell - NO getting around it!! For some reason I'm thinking they reported 120°F on the floor... which even sounds kinda low, tbh... And the FIRST year they held it, they didn't have water spraying out onto the crowds like they finally decided to do in later years. Hey, we didn't even have bottled water back then!!! PAY FOR WATER - NOOOO WAAAY!!! But then you know, after many kids fainted from the those hotter temperatures on the stadium floor, where we were PACKED like sardines, (and that's no exaggeration) they finally decided, "I guess we need to help keep those dumb kids cooled off a little bit..." There were no seats on the stadium floor. It was standing room only, and zero regulations as to how many that could be!! We all spent time on that floor! Everybody breathing each other's air, we were all smashed together, and getting a tan at the same time! And guess what? We liked it!! Can't you just hear those non-rockin adults rolling their eyes now... Wow. I just had a memory flash in my head about how the newspaper would have a write-up of the concert afterward! Ha! And it was always a big deal to find that, and read it the next day! The NEWSPAPER!! I can hear the kids of today saying it now... Geez! How old ARE you!!! Hahahaha!!! Well... I'll tell ya how old I am! I'm old enough to compare concert stories with you, and I GUARANTEE my stories will be better than yours! Why? Because I was THERE back when a Rock Concert was actually ROCKIN !!! Back when the ground under your feet shook out in the parking lot! And your hearing was impaired the next day bcuz of how loud it was! (Sometimes lasted 2 days!) Back before they set limits on how loud it could be so neighborhoods nearby wouldn't be disturbed! Back when people lit up a doob, and instantly passed it down the line, not worried they would never see it again - they KNEW they wouldn't see it again!! And yes, we were "strangers" sharing germs, but WHO CARES!! Nobody, that's who!! Party ON!!! Back when lighters were used to show applause, not cold cell phone flashlights! And guess what, I NEVER heard about even ONE person's hair getting burned off their head, or any such nonsense!! There weren't any helicopter parents keeping us from doing stupid things! And YES, we DID stupid things!! Man, what a good time it was too!!! Those were some GOOD Jamms!!! The Texxas Jamm!!! They'll go down in infamy! Good one Tony! 👍

Such a tremendous loss but for those of us who were fortunate enough to have grown up listening to one of the most talented musicians who ever lived we will remain forever thankful.. ❤ Rock God status forever Thank you Eddie Van Halen

I know. I teared up again. He is really a great base player. Oh how I know he is going to miss his daddy. I sure miss mine. Losing your Pop at 29 years old has to suck. Praying for Wolfe and Alex, with whom I always had a super crush on, probably even now! Rest easy sweetheart! ❤️

Losing your father at any age is painful. I lost both my parents at the age of 5 to a drunk driver. If you get even 1 more day with yours than I did with mine be grateful for that time.
