If it's any consolation, these girls know how to work the camera. They are the ones who are doing the work with them filling out the scene so you can see the whole group in an interesting way. Some of their best videos are an I-phone in the corner of the room while they do their stuff. Some of the annoying videos are when the cameraman who is used to having to make an artist look cooler than they are zooms too much and cutts to "dramatic" angles that end up cutting out most of AG's amazing performance.

You are absolutely right! This is why the Ghostbusters video while giving A.G. some of their best exposure, was not all that good at capturing their dancing/performing excellence!

Love your reactions. Members are Suzuka (glasses), Mizyu (tails), Kanon (straight hair), and Rin (braid). Have been together since 2015when they were between 13-16 years old. Since their inception they have always created their own choreography (which can get intense; in fact they are hired to create choreo for other artists), and have always pushed the boundaries. The thing you might been interested in is that they are really co-directors on all their videos. They collaborate with the directors on all aspects of the shots (and generally get their way). Can see it in their BTS stuff. This is the best performance group in the world.

It’s great how they added english lyrics. I think w/o understanding the meaning behind all the craziness you were only getting like half the picture. They love adding double meanings and hidden bonuses.

You should check out their video, "Night Before The Exam - Single Take Performance". The 4 of them in a classroom with a drone camera. The entire production crew is outside the room with the door closed. Incredible performance. Language should never be a barrier. As Babymetal lead Su-metal said..."Feel, don't think". The same applies to AG.

Yes if there's anything you can always count on with Atarashii Gakko it's how their visuals are always so fun and creative. The girls are also as you said just amazing performers. The four of them together create this awesome synergy and it just never fails to leave a lasting impression.

AG is freaking great. I am a metal fan and cannot get enough of them. I think you would totally appreciate Koi Geba. Great cinematography, jazz, pop, rock song with a deep take on teacher/student affairs.

i would suggest koi geba! it uses the cameras as part of the story the song tells, and it's so so effective. love seeing someone who's pov is on the video editing and videography side of things!

Otonablue - Atarashii Gakko the First Take version is going to blow your mind. I never was a fan of idol groups and still don't like most of them but Atarashii Gakko is the first idol group ever to make me so intrigued and fascinated with their members, expecially Suzuka.

Great reaction! :) reminds me on how i felt when i first saw this song (which is one of my AG! favorites). I can also recommend the 2 full choreography versions of Suki Lie, one on the boat and on in that warehouse with the fire (parts of it were used in this official video, as you could see)

Your exact reaction was the same thing I felt when I first saw this group. Just being stunned by every detail and having to stop to go back to see more. And I have been down the rabbit whole for weeks now. As a new fan, there is just something about them that brings joy to everything they do and it shows.

Atarashii Gakko don't fit into any boxes. They are definitely Japanese, but play with all different genres and musically can be very different one song to the next. They've been together for around 8 years and put out their first album in 2018. Suzuka (Fake glasses. Fun fact, she's the only one in the group that does not actually need glasses in real life)) is the lead vocalist and just total Rock Star. Mizyu (shortest one with pig-tails, and the only one with a drivers license) is the oldest and has been with their production company Asobisystem the longest. Rin (Perm with shaved sides and back of her head) is also a DJ and life long Hip Hop fan, and classic vinyl record collector. Kanon (long straight hair) is probably the most talented dancer of the group, and is usually the one lifting Suzuka up in their choreo. These girls are absolute top tier artists. All are pro dancers and choreographers and they do their own choreography for their songs. They all can sing beautifully, but Suzuka just has that strong, deep, punchy voice. These girls are so damn good cause they put in work, and have been given the freedom by their production company and label to just be themselves and do all the batshit crazy things that make them unique. They really do a great job with their dance moves and presentation to overcome language barriers and draw the audience in. They are absolute fire live!

You most likely will never read this because I'm a few days late, and in this horrific world, that is far too long. But in the spirit of... I guess reality? I wonder what you would think about the video for Easy Breezy, by Chelmico. You seem to like Japanese vibes, and that is a very interesting one. The whole thing is crazy but overtly interesting. Secondly, if you want to watch astonishing music videos... I think you need to REALLY check out Chris Cunningham's work. From Aphex Twin to Squarepusher and Autechre... to Byork. If you are not impressed, then you must have a deaf ear when it comes to understanding what a creative collaboration can be.
