Zayn's British, he's had some huge hits like Pillowtalk, I Don't Want to Live Forever(with Taylor Swift) and Dusk Till Dawn. He's reclusive which is why you probably haven't heard much but his new album Room Under The Stairs is dropping tomorrow (May 17) and he's been coming more out to promote it. This is actually a newer sound for him, always soulful but he tended to have a more R&B sound but he's always experimented with genre. Room Under The Stairs promises to be more raw and acoustic. This is a new band but he's always had a female band backing him. added info -Grant Maz is the videographer 😉

The Hendrix estate asked Zayn to 'create a new version of the classic song' while using original music by Hendrix to celebrate his 80th birthday. Zayn has released three solo albums with a fourth one on the way. Mind Of Mine, Icarus Falls, Nobody Is Listening, and Room Under The Stairs. RUTS will be released on May 17, 2024. There are fifteen tracks on the album. Zayn wrote twelve out of the fifteen songs by himself. He co-produced the album alongside record producer Dave Cobb.

I'd add on his opening for Teddy Pendergrass's "You Can't Hide" mixed by Grandmaster Flash. I love Pendergrass. Zayn's adds his stratospheric falsettos that complement the song. For hip-hop, he was in one of the remixes of Chris Brown's Back to Sleep, which many felt Zayn held his own (and *sacred bleu* might have even outdid Usher, whose lyrics might have been too out there). I think Joe E will enjoy Room Under the Stairs with several songs so rooted in the bluesy R&B (the labeling of the album as country is a bit misleading, though Zayn has openly stated he was inspired by Chris Stapleton who himself is heavily influenced by blues where he turned Tennessee Whiskey into an interpolation of Etta James I'd Rather Go Blind). Actually this Friday he’ll be releasing his 4th album called Room Under the Stairs (this track belongs to that album), it would be the first album he has released in this genre of music ( he made mostly RnB music with his previous projects). This style of music fits him perfectly and this upcoming album will be his most personal and sincere album he’s ever made. Hands down this new era will be his best. I'm not a One Directioner either and not into boy bands per se. I can't remember how my attention turned to Zayn. Happenstance, I suppose. Nevertheless good timing as he had just released his debut album, Mind of Mine, carrying the torch of the R&B I've always loved while adding dreamy sounds into Icarus Falls. Such a welcomed fresh artist in today's Tik Tok-driven music. His vocals are so mesmerizing, they can make an unremarkable song into an out-of-body experience ("Scripted"). I don't think I would like Alienated if sung by any other singer of the moment.

Honestly, all of his songs are great. This album is a bit different than his previous albums. Even his voice in One Direction is worth listening to - he can hit those high notes! For me, he is one of the most underrated musicians. With this new era where he is definitely more active and about to have his first concert tonight of his solo career, his future is looking bright. Zayn is from Bradford, England. He is half Pakistani, half British. He was a member of One Direction and was the first to leave in 2015. Currently, he lives in rural Pennsylvania on a farm where he raises his young daughter 50% of the time (Gigi Hadid is his ex). Zayn is a great guy. He dealt with severe anxiety, so he did not tour his first three albums. Hopefully, he will tour his new album!

So he's from One direction.. he left one d in 2015 and went solo.. released an Album Mind of Mine in 2016 and it was the best selling album. His first single Pillowtalk was the highest selling debut song in the UK. He then released two more albums. Icarus falls with 27 songs and Nobody is listening with 11 songs.. he took a break due to some issues in his personal life.. after 3 years he's back with his new album coming out on 17th May 2024 that is tomorrow.
