Just wanted to let you all know that Razer had no input in this video, and it did not need to be approved by them before posting :)

@@Tekenduis98 Yes and this is a lie or at the minimum misleading. No webcam on the market can touch a DSLR. I do video work and photo work. His DSLR has been set up to look that bad. Sorry but not sorry. His main cam for the video is a dslr maybe sony 5100 the second was tuned to be bad as well as the amount of light in that room needed to be mentioned. This is a little better than a c920. c920 can look as good a dslr in perfect conditions. Turn down the light to a normal setting and boom no image quality

not that I have any issues with the price (£200 time of comment), I probably would've mentioned it somewhere. especially when you talked about the price of your DSLR cam setup I think the comparison would've been a selling point. Also I loved the unboxing intro, very fun!

Man I gotta say, you killed this review!! The editing is very unique, and I appreciate that this is a more consumer grade review that doesn’t get lost in the details. All I wanna know is how does it look and how does it perform? This thing goes on sale all the time, and seems to be transformative when it’s not being compared to DSLRs or the like. Seems like Razer have themselves a winner. I can’t wait to get mine in today. Great work again on the video!

Prefering the punch box method of unboxing, it for some reason helps tie the whole video together and makes the product look a bit more enticing. Great job joe on your sponsorship!

Great review. There are some issues with the Kiyo Pro but as long as you zoom in and put the camera bit farther away from you it's a really good camera. The barrel distortion is a bit much around the edges but it's pretty low distortion in the center of the lens using the other two FoVs.

I got a Sony ZV1 because i wanted to make KZbin Videos beside my Twitch streams. I realized that i have not enough time for YT so i decided to go back to a webcam for my live streaming because a 700 Euro camera is overkill. I bought the Razer Kiyo Pro and the Elgato Facecam to make the decision which is my favorite. I love the Elgato products but the camera is not good. I was blown away from the razer. The picture ist cristal clear and the colours are perfect. Best webcam i ever had by far. Also had a Logitech C920, 922 an the streamcam. None of them is close to the kiyo! And i got it for 115 euro from amazon

Your DSLR had a smooth consistent framerate, while your Kiyo looked pretty choppy. Idk, maybe it's just because the camera runs at 60fps on my 165hz monitor.

Would you say the benefits of this Webcam outweigh using a more affordable variable ND on existing DSLR setups? Edit: In your specific case where the natural light is overwhelming.
@JoeHickson3 жыл бұрын
A vari ND still means manually adjusting exposure when the light changes, which is as much effort as reaching over and adjust the shutter. If the dlsr was slightly newer it wouldn't be an issue, I was using an old model with limited exposure metering options so couldn't rely on an auto exposure. So long answer long yes, for my specific situation :)
@LennertK3 жыл бұрын
The "HDR" look on this feels pretty unnatural to me, maybe it's just the HDR mapping which could be improved through software. Especially combined with the small sensor / exaggerated digital sharpness and the digital 2D blur it does not look great to me. I prefer the way your dslr looks even with the overexposed window. I get that it's not the point of the video but blocking the window in front of you and setting the exposure right to a key light that's bright enough to make you lit brighter than the background would be miles ahead of the "magical hdr fix". Also, the low light performance does not look good when you show with only the monitor as a keylight. The background with the digital blur hides the noise there but the foreground is just a blocky noisy mess so I can only imagine what the dark background would look like without that digital blur. I can see if you don't have an older camera laying around 200 quid for this is not too bad, but I don't think you should compare it to a DSLR. Even my old Canon 600D/T3i with the kit lens and no autofocus looks better and more natural than the tiny sensor on this (of course that camera doesn't output clean HDMI/high res over USB so a webcam definitely wins in that regard). You can only get so far with digital post-processing. I'm not saying this is a bad camera but it's still a webcam. This means great UX and ease-of-use, plug and play, a pretty fair price all things considered, all that good stuff but the quality just can't compare to a more expensive, larger and more complex DSLR. And honestly to me this video does not make it look good at all because of that. When compared to a DSLR with a sensor that's probably at least 8x (but more likely around 16x or more) the size, it's just physics vs digital compensation. I am clearly not the target audience for this thing lol but still, trying to market this as an alternative to a DSLR seems silly as it would probably look much better when compared to other webcams. I get that I'm kind of bashing the video and you should do what works best for you but I think if I didn't know anything about gear and would base my opinion on what's being said in this video I'd have some wrong expectations.
