This masterclass is so incredibly valuable! Joel Frahm is one of my favorite musicians and to hear all this advice from him is so useful and amazing! That story about Johnny Griffin literally made me cry because it was so beautiful

Joel's solos can be original but never "shapeless". He is not only technically very proficient but so musically exciting.

45:50 It's like using a new person's name. The first time or two using it has to be intentional. Invariably it becomes natural.

Frederick Horn - I know I’m not fit. Are you trying to be snide about my weight? I’m aware I’m out of shape. Your comment is unkind at the least.
