Biblical archaeologist Joel Kramer takes us to the praetorium outside the city wall of Jerusalem to discuss the place where Pilate sentenced Jesus to death. This is part 1, as the next part takes us into the old city as we visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

To popularize the archaeological "news" about this Praetorium location - Joel Kramer should have - during the tour - identified, how many feet or yards - from the Jaffa Gate it is to locate this site along the wall, so that tourists or pilgrims interested in seeing this on their own - can find it - if the tour guides from the Herod's Palace staff do not add this information in the staff tours run at the site at the present time. Does Joel Kramer run guided tours from this site, or only "private" tours for individual groups? The producer of this video should have included a diagram overlay - (Joel's diagram), which would have been especially helpful. But, in the main, this was a very interesting video. I'll be sure to check it out in an upcoming March 2023 tour of Israel, when in Jerusalem. And, I'll be sure to ask staff at the Herod Palace location - WHY this info may not be included in tours of the site at this time? Thank you for this video.

You forgot to mention that upon that very spot where Jesus was seated and judged, his blood would have stained the stones beneath his feet, and upon which he sat. I say this because he had already been scourged at this point, and was wearing the crown of thorns. Sadly, he would have looked terrible, bloody, and abused, and this was Pilate's intention. No doubt some trace sample of the Saviors' blood remains there today, as certainly his Spirit does. It must have been chilling to stand upon that very spot, to breathe the air, and feel that terrible dark cloud of judgement pulling you back in time to the "Trial." †
