Bible archaeologist Joel Kramer takes us on a hike around the City of David to look closer at a good possibility where David's family tomb was located. It's long but worth the effort.
Please check out more than two dozen other videos featuring Joel Kramer that can be found on my KZbin page! He's an incredible teacher.

I really enjoyed this video, I like how he went right to the Bible to finds it's location, and to explain as to what happen to the tomb, or any treasure that would have been placed with King David when he died, but what this man say's them calling it a cistern rings true to many times, that we fail to find a lot of these places, not because their not there, but because there are people of have another agenda for not finding them.

Robert an Sherry Bailey these archeological excavation are not for the layman to discussexcavation and inter. The Bible is a point of reference to start escavation in the holy land. I like archeology and value it as such per se. Let the experts in the Bible and expert archeologists fight it out among themselves. I just want to see the activity of excavation that interests me since I was a child. If all the threads are tied together after much much digging and interpretation of the scriptures so much the better. I do not make judgements on their activities and judgments, that pertains to scholars and then it’s take it or leave it for me depending on I feel about it.

If I could go anywhere before I pass on to another life , it would be the city of David and Jerusalem! TO WALK THE SAME PLACE WHERE JESUS WALKED, PREACHED, AND PASSED ON HIS TEACHINGS BEFORE HIS DEATH IN THE SAME PLACE , WOULD BE THE MOST WONDERFUL THING EVER. RON WYATT SPOKE OF THE FEELING HE GOT BEING THERE AND I CAN ONLY SAY IT MUST BE UNEXPLAINABLE. I THINK THERE IS NO PLACE ON EARTH THAT YOU CAN FEEL MORE CLOSE TO GOD. I BELIEVE THE HOLY TRINITY WOULD BLESS ANYONE WHO WOULD GO THERE SEEKING AN EXPERIENCE AND WOULD BE BLESSED WITH AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER.

Kylene L When Yeshua was raised at his crucifixion being the firstborn of the dead, many of those OT saints that's slept awaiting the Messiah, rose next. then 3 days later Yeshua rose AGAIN with his changed body as scripture says as the sign of Jonah and proof (the sign) that he actually arose and was alive. This is the mystery of resurrection. The righteous have 2 resurrections. The 1st death to self which is when they are raised spiritually at their physical death on their LAST DAY of mortal life, then our bodies are raised when Yeshua returns at the end of the age on THE last day as another sign to the wicked. The prophecies are dual that's why folks are confused about this mystery. The gospels even say that Yeshua would RISE AGAIN, if it was his first resurrection why would he rise again? Just an FYI and my personal interpretation.

Thank you guys for showing us, the viewers the truth. The goal of the wicked and misled is to discredit the bible as being a reliable history source. By extension, this would make out the biblical stories to be a myth and ultimately Jesus never existing. That is why having historical and archeological evidence helps to a great extent. Not saying that you need these things to trust the bible being the word of God by faith, but rather to help those that would need more evidence to believe. It's a win win situation if you look at it.

What did the Roman historian Tacitus say about a "spring of never-failing water" in the temple in section 12 of the passage below? He was a teenager when the temple was destroyed during 70 AD. The Jews Book Five (1-13) of The Histories by Tacitus 11. So after encamping, as I have said, before the walls of Jerusalem, he paraded his legions in formation before the eyes of the enemy. The Jews, marshalled close under their walls, were in a position to venture further out if they were successful and had a place of refuge ready at hand in case of defeat. Titus sent against them cavalry and some cohorts in battle order, but the encounter was indecisive. Then the enemy gave ground, and for some days thereafter fought a succession of engagements just in front of the gates. Finally, repeated losses drove them behind the walls. The Romans then concentrated on an assault. After all, it seemed beneath them to wait for hunger to do its work on the enemy, and the troops actually asked to be allowed to risk their lives. Some did so because they had real courage, many from mere bravado and a desire for rewards. As for Titus, his imagination dwelt on Rome, wealth and pleasure: it would be long before these dreams were realized if Jerusalem were destined not to fall in the immediate future. But the city occupied a commanding position, and it had been reinforced by engineering works so massive that they might have rendered even a flat site impregnable. Two lofty hills were enclosed by walls skilfully staggered and forming re-entrant angles designed to expose the flank of an attacker. At the edge of the crags was a sharp drop, and a series of towers dominated the scene, 105 feet high where the rising ground helped, and 135 or 120 feet high on the lower contours. (19) These presented an impressive appearance, and to the distant observer seemed to be on a level. There were further walls inside around the palace, and a conspicuous landmark was the lofty castle of Antonia, so named by Herod in honour of Mark Antony. 12. The Temple was like a citadel and had its own walls, which had been even more laboriously and skilfully constructed than the rest. The porticoes around it constituted in themselves an excellent defensive position. To these advantages must be added a spring of never-failing water, chambers cut in the living rock, and tanks and cisterns for the storage of rainwater. Its builders had foreseen only too well that the strange practices of the Jews would lead to continual fighting. Hence everything was available for a siege, however long. Moreover, after Pompey's capture of Jerusalem, fear and experience taught them many lessons. So taking advantage of the money-grubbing instincts of the Claudian period, they purchased permission to fortify the city, and in the days of peace built walls meant for war. Already the home of a motley concourse, its population had been swollen by the fall of the other Jewish cities, for the most determined partisan leaders escaped to the capital, and thereby added to the turmoil. There were three different leaders and three armies. The long outer perimeter of the walls was held by Simon, the central part of the city by John, and the Temple by Eleazar. John and Simon could rely on numbers and equipment, Eleazar on his strategic position. But it was upon each other that they turned the weapons of battle, ambush and fire, and great stocks of corn went up in flames. Then John sent off a party of men, ostensibly to offer sacrifice but in reality to cut Eleazar and his followers to pieces, thus gaining possession of the Temple. Hence-forward, therefore, Jerusalem was divided between two factions, until, on the approach of the Romans, fighting the foreigner healed the breach between them. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The tabernacle was at Gihon when Solomon was anointed king of Israel. 1Ki 1:38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon. 1Ki 1:39 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

I don’t know about the veracity of this documental as the one of the arc of the covenant (which sounds totally false btw) But here is food for thought... The authenticity of the site has been challenged on several grounds. According to the Bible, David was actually buried within the City of David together with his forefathers; by contrast, the 4th century Pilgrim of Bordeaux reports that he discovered David to be buried in Bethlehem, in a vault that also contained the tombs of Ezekiel, Jesse, Solomon, Job, and Asaph, with those names carved into the tomb walls. The genuine David's Tomb is unlikely to contain any furnishings of value; according to the 1st-century writer Josephus, Herod the Great tried to loot the tomb of David, but discovered that someone else had already done so before him.

Relatively recently finished, it is a tunneled walkway that is on the West side of the City... so how can you be sure that Nehemiah is referring to the Eastern wall in Verse3:15 and following? Barbara Bradley Barbara, you won't find his body, after Jesus was Crucified there was a resurrection of many of the Old Testament saints. Mat 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. Mat 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

These replies you've gotten are all bullshit and proselytization. David's tomb was ransacked a few times before Hadrian finally broke down the tomb for quarrying. It's location was well known until the 1st century AD, that's 11 centuries of common knowledge. Kings used to open the tomb to take gold from it to pay for things, so it's not that hard to imagine someone broke in and stole the body of King David.

Exit out of the area of Hezekiah's Tunnel, past guard gate, go left, up street about 75 yards, go to right and this is where it is located. There are a few signs there, as shown in the video.

In Islam we believe The bodies of prophets stay same they don't turn into bones. In Iraq they had dug a tomb of one of prophet and the body was still in its original form. So you can use sound equipment to see what's under it.

When I take gps and all known descriptions I end up in the city of david. Josephus states north by northwest so stand in today's temple mount concider it as the fort then reverse what he say and go 600 Hector south by south east and you end up at the tower of David and what's thought to be his home.

The water is the biggest debunked of today temple. It would be every bit of a 45 minute walk to stay pure before entering the temple. Idk that would be concidered.

Seriously, there is plenty of evidence for 70 people in the Bible, see this: drivethruhistory.com/biblical-figures-found-through-archaeology/ If this is true, then we must ask, what will you do with this evidence since your presupposition has been shown to not be true?

I don't think it's reasonable to generalize that "the Jewish world spoke Greek at this time (1st century, CE)," based upon one synagogue. Much textual evidence from the Bible, at least, indicates a widespread knowledge, if not use, of Hebrew. Much language in the gospels contains Hebrew syntax and idiom.

Over the years, tombs were raided by a variety of people, looking for the valuables that would often be included in a grave. They are called grave robbers.
