Talk about relatable when Joel was talking about learning lines vs his ADHD - "Once I snap in it's a lot easier, but to get there is like pulling ---". I also have ADHD and have never felt more seen while watching someone else talk about themselves.

Hey Mike I think your interviewing style has improved so much!! I think since you started doing this I have appreciated the fact that this more of an "actor on actor" type of conversation than say any morning show interview or celebrity podcast.. I think now that you have this setup, I would suggest maybe take it to the next level by doing a actors group- almost like what Variety or Hollywood reporter does but more in a relaxed set up- a dinner or living room where you guys talk shop and watch a flick.. I can just see Mchale, Sutherland & Patric, Astin and others in the same room just having a great time talking shop and keeping you as a moderator

I take Elvanse (the name here in Sweden for one of those available) for my ADHD. It works for me. Despite some sideeffects i prefer being on it: Without it i cant think proberly, have lot less energy, my brain is constantly stuck in some weird fog and i dont really function as a person. With it I an productive, creative and have more energy. I am more focused and less distracted by the environment. I used it for a few years after getting diagnosed. Went off it for about two years and recently went back on it. Those two years was so bad.

In the US, it’s called Vyvanse and is what I take for my ADHD. I also take Wellbutrin, because it’s the only antidepressant that works for me with the added bonus of helping with my ADHD.

Ok, here's all the answers to the ADHD questions you guys posed. First off, Hi Michael, I played football with you back in 2005 in LA, I was friends with Jean Paul. Anyways. The reason you have to see the lines and why you lose them when they are throwing them at you is because working memory is shot when it comes to ADHD. Imagine holding a ball in each hand and someone gives you a third ball and you drop the second ball to hold the third ball. You've now forgotten the second ball. ADHD brains can only hold so many things at once and a new thing will replace another thing in short term memory/working memory. Joel (and Michael), the reason you fell asleep on adderall is because, with a lot of people that have ADHD but not all of them, stimulants have the opposite effect on us. Caffeine makes us sleepy and so does adderall (a stimulant). That's probably why they have you on Wellbutrin, a SSRI/antidepressant, because it's not a stimulant and is an off label treatment for ADHD. We also have a hard time self judging/self examining so when it comes to "I don't know if it's working" best consult your loved ones to see if they notice a difference in you. Also, 45mg of adderall is WAY too high as a starter dose, should be more like 15-25mg. Joel, you may actually be a better candidate for Vyvanse than you are for adderall. (source: 30 years of studying ADHD medical publications and medical studies)

@archangel1of78 ай бұрын
Don't know if you're reading these Joel but 45 mg of Adderall is a lot especially first time. Also, both Vyvanse and Adderall affect different people differently. Michael may have found it to be smooth but it hits me like a maximum overdrive truck filled with rage so I don't take it. I take extended release Adderall which lasts 12 to 15 hours and it's much more level. Brand name is key.

Cars are a form of art. I had a 86 5.0 mustang and a 2003 f150 long bed manual transmission 4x4. I loved having a car and truck. Now I’m married and drive a 430i coupe and my wife drives a Buick enclave. Being in my late 40’s safety became prioritized over chaotic fun jumping dunes in the truck and racing the mustang. Now it’s all about preparing for a kid. Evidently my life of only owning 2 door cars and trucks are going to end when we have a kid. It’s going to be weird driving a 4 door.

Joel will never see this, but just in case: Adhd commonly is diagnosed alongside depression and anxiety, though how the relationship between them works is still unclear. Also falling asleep on a stimulant when you have ADHD is not surprising, stimulants affect people with ADHD differently, so instead of getting amped up, it brings a sense of calm. These are obviously general statements, but obviously it's not a "one size fits all" situation. Wellbutrin did nothing good for me, Dexedrin made me not eat to the point of nearly killing me, but I've known other people who do well on it 🤷♂️

Didn't know Joel was a car person, the raimi car is a Oldsmobile Delta 88 also if the battery is dead after not driving it a while you probably have something that draws a current while it's off or just bad alternator which easy way to check that is to get a voltage meter that just plugs into the 12v socket for like the lighter
