So refreshing, no pole-dancer moves, just straight on great dancing!

She gave him a back lead when she grasped both his shoulders. That’s was his cue.

Joel is pretty creative, just needs to work on all the broken lines. Tall guys have to straighten everything out (legs especially) Or everything looks bent and short. If he extended through more he'd get way more momentum and energy. And if you're gonna hate on me for saying it, talk to Debrah. wish dancers would remember where Debrah came from. Shes old school, and has so much she continues to bring forth. If you wanna see te best lead of all time watch Jason Colocino.. RIP

I agree with everything you're saying! I'm working on plenty of stuff, hopefully I'll be even better in the future. :)

Respectfully, I have to disagree. I think the style of WCS has transformed in recent years. While more upright postures and lengthened limbs was in vogue in the 90s, I believe the dance has embraced a more relaxed stance. I think it gives the whole dance a more organic and grounded aesthetic and brings the dance closer to its roots in the swing era. Doesn't get more "old school" than that. A truly phenomenal improvisation Joel! Love the creativity and joie de vivre. Of course Deborah is wonderful here too :)
