From Seattle here. Been there 6 times already and hoping to return! Glad you guys enjoyed it. Ella train ride, Mirissa and Kandy were the hotspots but you might also wanna checkout the ancient city of Anuradhapura.. It's an entirely different vibe! That small land is packed with everything for a good holiday!

As a Sri Lankan, I highly recommend hiking. ( with proper guidance/ info. Do your research before attempting tho) It's mesmerizing tbh. There are such good places in SL for hiking. Try village life experience. They are super duper friendly. Don't think twice to ask for any help. 😊 Wish you all the best. Happy travels ❤

Yes, well Mirissa / Weligama very close to each other! Weligama is a more of a surf beach, Mirissa is more of a chilled, swim beach :)

Hi Joel, I am from Kandy. The tuk driver should have charged you only eight hundred or nine hundred rupees. Don't pay more than 100 rupees per Km. Enjoy the rest of your visit. Cheers.

Most visitors think about KANDY TO ELLA. But the real scenes starts from Rambukkana . Rambukkana is not a hill station. Its just 100m elevation. Kandy is about 600m elevation. From Colombo try to get right side window. The fabulous work by the Brithish. Actulayy Rambukkana to Kadugannawa the Hardest climb by train.
