Notre Dame beat Indiana and they said Indiana shouldn’t have been in the playoffs. Notre Dame beats Georgia and they said Georgia isn’t the team of old. Why can’t Notre Dame just be good enough to win the games they’ve won. One team shouldn’t have been there and the other team wasn’t their best. From what I seen Georgia played good enough to win. Notre Dame just made the plays on offense, defense, and special teams to win. Give my Irish credit. In one breathe they are picked to go to the National Championship because their schedule was weak, but when it’s against an SEC power, they don’t have a shot. Notre Dame beat Georgia which everyone picked to win, they beat the refs who did everything in their power to help keep Georgia in it. They beat all the sports media haters, analysts, broadcasters, and biggest haters ESPN. To prove “WE ARE, NOTRE DAME!” Go Irish ☘️

It was a sign that he too, knew that things were changing and the task was going to be too difficult to continue. The SEC did away with the divisions. Bama could no longer rely on beating MSU/Ole Miss/Ark every year as they weren't on the schedule any more. That means more games vs Georgia and Florida in their future......OH and OU and Texas are coming in. Nick saw the writing on the wall and got out. Anyway, Klatt is pretty happy about it too so he can keep uttering how everyone has a chance and he won't look so foolish. He's still too biased on Colorado though so he's just human. You're looking at this the wrong way. Notre Dame played a Georgia team that was perhaps the weakest Georgia team in many years due to losing top tier players to the NFL draft and coaches like Dan Lanning to Oregon and Monken to the NFL. It was a miracle this team even got as far as it did. Georgia will regroup. They are reloading next year with blue chip receivers and D-Linemen. Hopefully Georgia can stop being stubborn and grab some talent from the portal. Having said that, this is the most talented Notre Dame team I've seen in my lifetime. Well coached, great players. The SEC did indeed have a down year overall, but I attribute much of that to Alabama starting over with a new coach, Georgia in a rebuilding year after losing McConkey, Bowers, and several blue-chip O linemen, and I don't know what Ole Miss's problem was. Regardless, I just can't see any team beating Ohio State this year. That team frightens me like Joe Burrow led LSU national championship team did. They spent 21M for that roster and its paying dividends.

I also knew that the Defense was fast. This is probably the fastest team I have seen since... I can't remeber when! What I didn't expect was how Notre Dame would handle Georgia on Both the Offensive and Defensive Lines. Now, obviously Georgia was keen on stopping our two great RBs, and they did a pretty good job of that. What they didn't do a very good job on was stopping R Leonard from getting big chunk plays AND occasionally our RBs would hit a big run to the outside. That helped all night. Reily Leonard also was very effective in Passing. He didnt get many yards, but almost every pass play was EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! And then there is the one point that I believe was the most important... Coaching. The Notre Dame Coaching Staff has done a tremendous job all season! On that fourth down swap, if it is obvious that Georgia is slow walking their substitution, the refs could call delay of game on Georgia, or they could let ND snap the ball without Georgia getting set. But I completely agree that ND had no intention of snapping that ball unless Georgia jumped. I think they would have taken the delay of game and given up the five yards to take it down to the wire. I also agree the hope was to get Kirby to burn a timeout that he desperately needed. Either way, it was a genius move by Freeman.

what kirby was crying about in the post game presser was that the SEC had set guidelines about not being able to do that because Lane Kiffin had exploited it to the point where the commissioner had to step in to regelate it. the same goes for fake injuries. and Notre Dame did both of that. so Greg Spanky needs to fix that. because the teams are trained of now thinking that the opposing team can’t do that well this is the playoffs not conference play. Something I’ve noticed in the last two games, and haven’t heard anybody talking about, is that you don’t really see Irish defensive players missing tackles. Yes, they’ve blown assignments, but generally speaking, if a Notre Dame player can get his hands on someone, they are usually getting tackled. It’s a small thing, but it speaks to the basic fundamentals that are being coached at Notre Dame. A missed tackle can mean a first down, or even a touchdown, and you see Irish defensive players wrapping up like we were all taught in high school. Really, really good tackling makes a huge difference in a game.

Georgia was gifted a few calls in this game as well. The lined up in the neutral zone. He slightly was, but the next ND possession, the Georgia player was far more over the line of scrimage. They never called it. Then, on the illegal shift by ND, that stopped a drive. The guest official explains to Greg why he is wrong. That would have been a first down for ND. They settled for a field goal. When playing the SEC, it is like boxing a Champ. You can't just beat them by a little because every round that is close, they are going to get the decision.

The Big 10 praise was warranted this year. USC, Illinois and Michigan all beat SEC teams with similar or better records than them. Even Iowa hung with a 3-loss SEC team. And now, two teams that aren't their conference champion are in the semifinal.
