I had no idea Platoon was based on Oliver Stone's real life military experience and real people. What a legend.

Love how seriously Joe took this episode. He’s clear and sharp. Not one of those stoner episodes. There’s a time and place for those ones:)

Tarantino would be a solid get on the podcast.

I remember how disapproving the WW2 people were of American flag clothes, shoes, etc. during the 60s-70s.

I'd love to see an episode where he interviews Quentin Tarantino

These kinds of interviews have historic significance and I'll be forever grateful for this kind of content.

I was still on active duty in 1986. My dad was a retired sergeant major from the green berets. This is the only movie we ever went to see together. He didn't say a word during the film. At the end, he told me the fire fight scenes were spot on. Total fucking chaos, just like Stone says. He did two tours in Vietnam and one in Thailand. Thanks Joe for this interview.

Damn, Joe's become a very good interviewer. Credit where it's due, he's got the knack of letting guests talk and drawing them out, making them comfortable, without interrupting. Dudes got real good at it over the years

My Uncle did a couple of tours in Vietnam.... He returned an alcoholic. He suffered after effects of chemical warfare. He saw Platoon and said "That is the most realistic film about that time in Hell! ". Thanks for having the guts to show the world what that war was really like!!

Joe's interviewing Oliver Stone and Howard Stern is interviewing Katie Perry. I believe there has been a changing of the guard.

"We didn't fight the enemy, we fought ourselves" I can watch Platoon every single day and never get sick of it.

In my family older men never talk about their emotions, it is amazing to see Mr. Stone open up his heart and tell us about his emotions growing up, and how he didn’t conform to the environment he was raised in, but still found out his path with such honesty to his being. Thank you for this.

I wonder if Joe Rogan even realizes that he is going down in history as one of the legendary greats of history. A single person who managed to bring together all the most creative and interesting people of the time into one place on a platform thats open and free. For humanity to have their moments with their favorite people. For a higher education like never before seen. For a trend that will further humanity in the most humbling way. Free to the public, free for our future generations. This is History in the making, history that will be recorded and made permanent for generations to come. Joe is the pioneer of a new culture. Its extremely inspiring to know that an average shit head can humble themselves and do great amazing things. He brings hope to all us shit heads.

After Platoon came out, men were more open to talk about being in that war. Before Platoon, men did not talk about it AT ALL. I am an RN and I thought it was interesting and I never forgot that. Stone's movie started a type of healing process.
