What if these emotional responses are evolutionary. There is pain in not living in the present. I realized, not too long ago, that the only thing in the world that you can control is yourself. Simultaneously, the only person that can make you happy is you. The person that makes you unhappy is also you.

Duncan's notion of coming back to the present moment definitely had a touch of something valuable in it, but I've found that I am much more easily able to embrace the present moment when I really zero in on my dreams - of realizing great depth as a painter, not a potter, but the aspirations definitely support my effort to stay present. And I definitely feel happier when I'm being very effective with my time, which means being present.

If you consume enough fluoridated water it will actually make your teeth look rotten -fluoride poisoning. I don't find there to be any rational, or even remotely justifiable, reason to consume fluoridated water. What makes the situation dire is that it is added to the water supply with no way to opt out other than workarounds like filtering the water at your end. My dental health is my own concern, I live with it, I pay for it and I can make my own choices about it. I find this situation to be rather criminal in a free society.

I realized today why I love it when Duncan Trussel is on. he always has something ridiculously new or insightful to say. several times per visit. it's insane. he's the ideal guest.

I remember setting on my motorcycle at a light, and hearing brakes and tires squealing. The hair on the back of my neck stood up, as I saw this car barroling into me. It hit me, and it stopped at the same time. It only broke my tail light, and I had to buy a new seat and change my pants.

Should have bought a car as well after that

@@israelslomianski5171 I was 22 back then. I'm 62 and my Road King is still running well. I live in the mountains, and don't have to deal with traffic, so been luck, knock on wood. I don't ride as much anymore, but still like to drive around up here on it in the woods. Got to avoid the occasional deer.

I have all the Joe-Chris-Duncan podcasts saved on my laptop and iPod, from JRE, Duncan's Family Hour and Tangentially Speaking. These guys are brilliant together.
@philipcallado56938 жыл бұрын
Doesn't look like there is one, but it shouldn't be hard to find and save them all. There's only 3 episodes on JRE, 2 on Tangentially Speaking and 2 or 3 on Duncan's.

I agree..Absolutely brilliant when they get together..I want to go see JR and Duncan on tour sometime soon!

18:30 my eye doctor has told me time and time again, that looking at a screen for too long has no effect on the eye. I've asked multiple eye doctors, always the same response.
