Currently own an 06 limited. Bought it used in 2010. Odometer just passed 100k miles. Its like riding in a lazy boy recliner. Most comfortable ride ever.

I had the 09 hyundai sonata before, which is the smaller sibling of the azera, it had the 3.3L engine which is the biggest engine you can get with the sonata, at 220k miles the engine went out because of the wrong oil viscosity i used to put in it. I had to swap the engine and the mechanic said why not to go for the 3.8L azera engine, found one with only 62k miles from an 09 azera, and it was a straight swap nothing to replace other than the long block. Man what a beast of a car she is now, it does accelerate like hell!

Oh wow. That is pretty cool. I bet it will boogie

What oil viscosity did you use that caused it to fail?
@marwanjleid57128 ай бұрын
@@kevinftw16 20w50 will cause oil starvation in the upper part of the engine which will lead to the vvt solenoid to fail. In the long term it will cause the rod bearings to spin and the engine will start knocking. I’m using 5w30 viscosity at the mean time which is perfect for hot weather areas like where i live in libya north africa, for cold areas i absolutely advice using 5w20 viscosity and replacing the oil and the filter every 4000 kilometers
@kevinftw168 ай бұрын
@marwanjleid5712 Dam. I would've never used 20W50 but you got a better engine out of it. If I ever see a fully loaded sonata with a blown 3.3 now I know I can swap a 3.8 into it 🤣 I always use 5W30 year round in my 3.8s. I have a 2006 Hyundai Azera and a 2008 Kia Amanti. First Hyundai-Kia I've ever owned. I usually run the miles up on Acuras.. I sold my 6 speed manual TL for the Amanti because I've been having problems with my left knee. If I can get 300-400k out of each car I'll be happy.. something about these engines and the car overall that I fell in love with

I'm a second owner of a 73k mile 08 and as soon as i got it got an oil change trans fluid refresh new spark plugs and sway bar links. Cant beat a car at this mileage you know will last. this is my second azera of this gen. Sadly had an 07 but a drunk driving neighbor totaled mine in my driveway so i sought out another one before they are too hard to find at low mileage.

In all fairness, the fact that it was serviced and is only a one owner suggests they enjoyed it enough to keep it for so long. The fact that they made some kind of effort to fix the bumps and bruises tells you they cared for it enough to make it look at least a bit better

Nice score! The marks on the door jam look like they were caused by a key ring on a chain or something like that, maybe the seatbelt as you said. I’m curious to see how the upholstery cleans up. With cleaner and a bissel spot pro or whatever, it should clean up. That steering wheel looks like it will clean up with magic eraser. Can’t wait to see you transform this one. What was the prognosis on the Saab? I must have missed that video. Good luck!

hey man just to let you know that the CapCut editing app doesn't have the little watermark on the bottom right if that's something that bothers you. It has a splash screen at the end but you have the option to delete it. I love the app, personally. Love the rig! Pretty nice build.

Do the Hyundai 3.6L V6 engines have timing chain issues?

Oh man. Turbo disintegrated I actually held what was left of the impeller. I was shocked. It was like the turbo had been starved of oil The car had always been maintained per the carfax. So I don’t understand. Anyway the timing chain lost a plastic tensioner at the same time as the turbo loss. So now it’s super noisy and Rattling. It could jump or break at any moment So I have put it away into my garage there at home. Gonna think a while I may leave it for years and acquire the new turbo from GM . I may also get the timing kit so I will have it. Car will be a super rare beauty in the future. Sooooooo hmmmmmm what to do. ????
