I feel like this video was not so much motivational but a humble brag. You paid off $95K in student loans in under a year. That means you made well over six figures last year from your business after taxes. Not everyone makes that kind of dough. There are similar YT videos to this. They set a budget, made sacrifices, paid off little by little methodically and religiously over a long period of time, etc. Now THOSE videos are motivational but this is more like "I'm so lucky, my business did really well last year and I was able to clear $100K of debt in a year"

Great advice.! I can't go indepth on here. But I have a recent student loan. I am working on lowering interest rate/forgiveness of interest. (NOT the loan amount) for a thing outside my control currently. But when I started I said "I will get to such and such dollars" because I know it can be feasable in the future financially. Plus tell myself weekly my personal motivation for paying it off. For me, it is not carrying debt to my future husband. Whever he may be lol. But it keeps me grounded.

You are lucky man. You are from middle class and I'm not even working class same as my wife - we are from social security class (if you know what I mean)... I worked since I was something like 12 and full time since I was 19 but couldn't save - never ever. I was horrible with money . I had a bussines that failed and now I know that I was running it without even knowing how much I'm making and how much spending (for nearly a year I didn't know my income)! I always thought I'm good with money and the fact that I'm from poor familly will help me as I#m frugal. I realized that being poor doesn't mean that you know how to deal with money - you just don't have them!

When I went to college it was after being homeless and an orphan from age 15 on. Worked three jobs, slept in a slum..then Army Officer training with that money. Did a cheap college..a BS then later worked up to a PhD. Being army reserve I got the military to pay most of it. Most kids should do like most in Canada do..take a gap year. Mostly...military service is the best experience.. Grow the fuck up. Learn integrity and how to work. Plus...military pays for school. You can take courses and darn it employers love that on your resume.

Joe! I just stumbled upon this video because I was looking for information and I am really glad that I stayed to watch! I was just wondering if you had any tips for people who are new to vlogging, blogging, KZbin and everything in between? Maybe you could do a video explaining how blogging SEO works or what blogging techniques have worked for you! I am definitely interested and ready to start a channel because I've been planning ideas for such a long time and ready to unleash and I think that KZbin is a great platform to share ideas and connect with others? Throughout these past 8 years, what has discouraged you? Did you have side hustles that were happening? And when you say that you paid that over $90k in one year, was this money that you saved up while the debt interest accrued and you paid for a majority of it at once? Thank you! Hope you are able to see this comment :)

Paying off your student's loan is remarkable, a good goal. Even though you won't have a steady loan installment that helps your credit score, and that may be the only disadvantage. Personally, I stuck with my student's loans for more than 20 years, and I have 10 more years to go, according to Navient. School should be for free and to carry a loan for a long time changes a lot of aspects of your finances in your life. So I paid off the last 10K of my loan, and it feels that I got a big rock off my back. Now maybe I can go and buy that new place without worrying about that extra payment. At least I'll be happy to pay for another loan, and this time knowing that I am going to own it.

Congratulations Joe!!! That was an astronomical amount of debt. That is the part of college I don't get. Why do so many students not stay in their field or shall I say don't get jobs in their field??? That was the reason a lot of kids don't go because they know that it's a gamble or a risk. If you hadn't went sure you may have felt like you were missing out but you wouldn't have racked up so much debt. I guess you tube was great to you and that's cool to hear!! Keep crushing the videos.

+Joe's Daily on a positive note, New York State has a new program that makes the payment on your public loans for 2 years if your a New York resident, and make less then 50k. Apparently after 2 years, about 12k is paid by them.

Just dont know why you'd talk about paying your student loan. What difference is there to a car or house loan just something you decided to loan and pay back. I know I wouldn't put up a video like this broadcasting my loan to the world and nor would I get 1. Just deal with it instead of telling the whole world. So what are acheiving out of it?
