Tops differentially hardens their knives, thats why they bend. The edge is harden higher so it will keep an edge but the spine is left soft so it can take more abuse and not snap.

Daniel M Certo, from relentless knives, won the contract for the movie The Punisher with this Knife design, which was later picked up by tops. This knife beat out hundreds of other knives, after this test, you can see why. It has a great design, unfortunately…Daniel M Certo has past away, but not before perfecting this design. He created a 3V version of this blade, nearly double the size right before he passed. They were hand forged and come with a Kydex and leather sheaths. From what I know there are only five or six that were made before he passed away. Unbelievable knives, if you could get your hands on one of them. It’s great to see this Knife passing the Joey X punisher test. Thank you Joey X for this great channel. Love this knife. Rest in peace, Daniel M Certo!

I've got one, I love the knife but the handle is bollox. A good wrap with tennis handle tape sorts the handle out and makes it comfortable.

It cuts very well but the edge is pretty thin, the hardness is around 60 like the last Cold Steel CPM3V knives you tested: SRK and Magnum Tanto. And it rusts quite a lot for CPM3V. Hope we'll see one day how it performs in your hands :D

JoeX illustrates why some "cool looking" design features are bad design. The "hook" on the handle hurts your hands; and the "raised" bit after the saw looks good but messes up sawing. It needed to have a longer saw so you can run it longer and faster, much better sawing. Flat bit at the end would be necessary for batoning, but don't mess the saw. *This* is why we need proper hardcore reviews rather than soft bottle cutting and paying compliments to the maker. Congratulations you epically mad Austrian.

Person on the grinder had a bad day it seems. If you look closely on the knives with wider edges like Scandi grinds, you will 90% of the time see one edge being more steep (especially on cheaper knives) - It might have something to do with the handedness of the person sharpening, since one way is a bit more awkward. This unevennes can lead to the apex not being as stable as one where both sides are equal for extreme impacts, because it would see more load one direction and fold or break especially if the edge angle is low. Since this one is a thick boy, I doubt this makes much difference though.

I love your videos Joe, please stay safe though, I get an adrenaline rush every time I watch you swing those blades. The TOPS punisher, like many other of their blades sucks, unfortunately, full of gimmicks, horrible handle, same tip, overall geometry is just useless. I don't know who they make these blades for, probably teenagers that believe a zombies may take over the world. Also overpriced, for what it is. What's dissapointing is that TOPS makes these, when they really do know how to make a good knife. Keep on chugging safely :)

The shape of the saw teeth make them useless for sawing wood because the taper of the teeth are backwards. Saw teeth must be the widest point of the saw blade and thin behind the edge so the teeth do not bind in the saw slot. It is fantasy designed blade 💩💩🔪

The uneven tip is intentionally uneven, it is made for prying, hence in the real world as you showed us it's more for bending 😁 This one was tough anyway, but another crazy design full of gimmicks. The original knife by Daniel M. Certo (2,000 bucks) has the same shitty handle and a real saw, TOPS screwed it with a useless saw easier to cut in the blade... Take care my friend, trees hate you, hopefully you had The Punisher at your side 🤠
