I remember Joey and Klaus Nomi hanging out daily around the Village in New York in 1979-80. I used to work in Capezio, and Nomi would come in to chat with the staff, he had an awesome 1980s futuristic style, that was only known around the East Village, NY, at that time, when from 14street and upwards and the rest of the entire country or the western world were still in the mid 70s,"Saturday night Fever" days. When Klaus Nomi became the first victim of Aids in New York city around 1983, that marked the sudden end of the fast moving and intimate New York underground and the beginning of the fall of that decade.

This is such a wonderful, lovely and cute gesture from a wonderful, lovely and gorgeous friend of Klaus. Thank you so much, Joey, for bringing a bit of Klaus back to us, in such a beautiful way. And thank you Nicholas for sharing this moment with us. :)

Ese no era el punto, era algo mas personal, sobre todo para los que viviamos en el vecindario y estabamos acostumbrado a verles junto por el barrio, vestidos futuristicamente definiendo a los añõs 80s antes de que naciera esa década/. Eso eran tiempos cuando el modernismo de ahora no existia más allá de la calle 14 en Nueva York, mientras que el resto del mundo vivia aún bailando DIsco y el pasado. El único que podia dar testimonia autentico y genuino de eso era Joey Arias por haberlo vivido
