this isnt hip hop whatsoever, its already a genre called Neo Soul. Mos Def is a rapper and made this song. Just because a rapper does music in another genre, that doesnt make whatever genre they do a subgenre of hip hop. It really doesnt matter though as I think people worry about genre too much and music is much more fun when you dont put everything in a box.
