So I'm South African and I just wanna say to me it's symbolic that Joey did his Ritual on June 16 because we celebrate that as Youth Day when Hector Pieterson was shot during a student protest against Bantu Education and learning in Afrikaans. It's symbolic because Joey is a young person taking charge of his destiny which is what many of our students did in the 1970s and which is why a lot of us are enjoying the freedoms we're enjoying now. So yeah, this just reminded me that being young doesn't mean being hopeless or lost.

Lmao this is an allusion to him going back to his original style. I can’t remember the interview, but 2-3 years ago bro said in one that he was tired of being unappreciated and overlooked as a rapper bc a lot of people ain’t fully comprehend his shit so he was gonna start diluting his music for mainstream success. Him saying he got his mojo back means he’s back to his og style that defined him as a rapper and that he’s most comfortable with. Kinda reminds me of a return to the underground type of thing but with new insight n determination. At least that’s what I think
