​@@sunshineproductions4122your American branded goods like coca cola, or certain foods will cost more in Italy, where as a 3 course meal in a restaurant will cost you about 25 euro. If you're buying local (saying you'll cook for yourself) it's very cheap. The milk there (latte) usually comes in long term packaging, as opposed to fresh milk in a fridge. They rarely use milk there for things like coffee (always espresso or black coffee) The beer there is similar (US budweiser beer could be 3 to 4 euro a pint minimum) usa beers cost more, but the much better Italian beers like Peroni or Messina, or Moretti will be half the price, with much better quality. Public transport usually works out about 2 to 4 euro for about every 30 to 40 miles. Taxis are cheap, shop around for car rentals (larger companies like enterprise are good to deal with, but will charge more than local Italian ones). Diesel/petrol way more expensive than the USA. The more South you go in Italy the more pocket friendly and open the people are. In the North they are more like the french, germans, swizz etc, but in the south is where you get the real Italy. One big thing the Sicilians hate about the Americans coming over is when they drink espresso alongside eating pasta. They say its a big NO NO there but they just don't tell them because they don't want to make them feel uncomfortable.
