Met Joey and Fabian in Vegas in 98 at a skate shop that I worked at. Kinda intimidating at first but ended up being the coolest dudes and the 2 of them together had us all dying😂.

I got to skate with Rodney at a World demo in the mid 90's and it was such a rad experience. At the same demo Kareem gave me big props for landing a tre flip off a ledge and it was pretty much the height of my skateboarding life lol

I use to skate with Joey little brother my homie Raul. Sometime we ran into Joey and he would hook us up with gears and boards. Thanks Joey for all you have done for us and for skateboarding. I’m so glad I found skateboarding at a young age.

Met Joey, Fabian, and Gabriel at the Courthouse in 95 as a young teen. They couldn’t have been more friendly and courteous to us kids who were big fans. JS has always been one of my favorite skateboarders! Great episode @9club👊🏼

I remember when Joey first came to San Jose. They stepped at my house first and Nick B , woke me up and Joey was staring at me, wondering who I was (which was nobody) and I didn’t know who this tall cat was either, haha. But, he was reserved, but cool. The missing people he forgot, are Paul Sharpe and Pierre Delaye. Both SMA riders at that time and San Jose.

Sitting here in Münster, Germany and enjoying that episode so much. Joey is such a nice person, although i have never met him. I love that he is with his wife for 35 years and that he makes that many shout outs to his old acquaitances. That is a nice gesture. Those menace times are also very absorbing to me, even though i dont really know much about that. Great episode

I went to Cortez Elementary back in the day. I grew up on Edgemere. I remember sitting on the hills and watching the elevators go up and down at night from the skyscrapers. All my older cousins went to Belmont High. The big gangs that were in my area were Diamond Street, White Fence and 18 street. I moved and left the hood in 1980. Joey brought back some memories for a minute.

I have a lot more respect for Joey now hearing his story. I had one of his boards, a Fabian, and one of those USA team graphics. Definitely always think of the Menace part when I hear that Method Man song. I recently randomly watched Joey’s older parts not knowing he was on 60/40- good stuff. I received Axion flow for a bit back in ‘98 (through Cowtown) so thank you Joey if you hooked that up! Oh and head just 10 miles north of Desert West (15-20 minute drive) for a better vibe.

Sometimes we gotta move to the next step, he just did it.
