Especially if they also eat some cereals and a couple of glasses of milk through the day. But for a vegan meal to be nutritious, you have to think about it. @DandelionGum12 жыл бұрын
@Tiago True. People often use the excuse that it should be up to governments or food producers to change but they are beholden to the voter and the consumer. If people keep voting for animal cruelty with their wallets and ballots then it will continue. The crazy thing is that most people are against unnecessary animal cruelty but they are ignorant of their impact and apathetic to change because it's hard to think about something that implicates you in wrong doing. It's a hard thing for people to admit to, especially when it's so normalised, something they do every day and something everyone around them does. Part of that ignorance comes from manipulation by producers, convincing people that it is humans, healthy, and necessary. But they only promote these lies because it lines their pockets. It's business. The only way we can change the system is by spreading awareness and educating people even if they don't want to hear it. Social change comes before systemic change. It's the same with any ethical movement.

Food is not being overproduced. He’s confusing overproduction with food waste. The main causes of food waste are supply chain issues (bad weather, processing problems (ie rampant Covid at slaughterhouses), unstable markets etc. One third of food produced in the the US is never consumed. 26% of meat poultry and fish are thrown out at the consumer level. Food waste effects everything from wasted land and water resources to ghg’s and climate change. As we know animal products are the biggest users of land and water and produce more ghg’s than plant products not only in their production but also their methane emissions when in landfill. So if he was really concerned about food waste, he’d be vegan.

Selfishness, he states! Killing another sentient being and keeping them in horrible conditions, exploitation. These are the most selfish things you can do to another being! Because we do not have to. We do it cause we want their flesh. Furthermore, we can actually have meat today that is made from plants that taste better than meat! And I state this with all certainty, being a former, heavy meat eater. And even Further, we can live a carcinogen, cholesterol free life. The most selfish thing you can do is take the life of another sentient being, when you do not have to. And sell their dead bodies for money! The worst thing about being human is how we can be programmed to accept a certain reality and behaviors, that most of us do not have the intelligence, or discipline to brake away from. This is why the most important vegan actions should be with children in schools. Not to state that grownups can’t change.

To be fair and accurate, Veganism was coined by Dot & Donald Watson in the '40s, and it actually centered around nutrition. It wasn't until the Leslie J. Cross era of The Vegan Society that a new definition built on animal rights was introduced.

Not much point raising the historical situation. Veganism is a modern ethic and not related to the prehistoric past. In any case you could argue that ancient humans (before agriculture) were vegan anyway. Sure, ancients hunted and ate animals, but they hadn't developed what we call modern ethics. They simply did what they could to survive and weren't owning and commodifying the animals around them. An interesting distinction about the vegan ethical position is that we are really talking about certain basic rights. Most of us act as though other people have these rights, veganism is just the idea that we also act in that way to other species whenever we can.

If this guy looks at this video and sees this comment, plz don't get duped into the, you have to have an argument in order to not be vegan. Veganism is a choice and their is nothing vegans can do about it. This is very specific , you do not need an argument against veganism in order to not be vegan. Don't be duped by vegans
@afwnafona2 жыл бұрын
you absolutley do need a logical reason LMFAO. thats like telling a murderer they dont have to justify themselves to anyone, or a dog abuser that they dont have to justify themselves. if someone kills someone we need to know why or hurting a dog, and if they dont have a reason for doing it, and there only reason was because they wanted to, then thats not a good enough reason to hurt someone else. same with hurting animals. i dont know what fantasy land you live in to believe you dont have to have a justification to hurt someone else. theres nothing about being duped, its called common sense and logic, and if you dont have a reason or any explanation or logic then you are the definition of delusional. i dont know why you think you are fighting some sort of battle, your literally fighting against people who are asking people to eat plants instead of hurting animals and the planet, like your not some sort of warrior your just a sad individual who is arguing against those who eat plants instead of living beings lmfao and for some reason being personally triggered by it, go do something else with your life. Vegans are fighting for billions of lives who dont wanna die and are being exploited, the planet, and humans who are starving because of animal industry, you are apart of the main issues in the world, yet somehow youve convinced yourself that your fighting for some big cause by fighting against people only eating plants and not hurting others??? wild. wont respond u seem obsessive judging from your comments you are one of those brick wall anti vegans who just enjoy being contrary and being an npc. your brainwashing has gone too deep and not wasting anymore time than this. you and your other antivegan friends circlejerking eachother and never listening or trying to understand any other point of view stuck in your echo chamber and enjoying being ignorant

You've got more power as a consumer than you have as a voter. Don't wait for the law to catch up with public sentiment about animal welfare, when people find out that it means they have to give up something they soon change their mind.
