I Paid £180 for 6 FAULTY Xbox Ones - Can I Make Money?

Yep. I don't know if this was the correct decision or not, to spend £180/$240 on six faulty Xbox One original Consoles. I want to try and fix them to make a bit of profit. How many out of the six can I fix? 😁

For all the gunk on the PCB around the 12-minute mark, you could try white spirit. Used it on a few GPU PCBs and it's always worked wonders.

Damn unlucky on the 1 with no power I would really like to see a revisit at some stage on that 1 (if you have spare time to relook) if not no big deal will be handy as a donor board 😉. The sticky Xbox one you can take the motherboard and wash it with water and soap and dry it before turning it on and you have a Xbox fully functional

I know it's a crazy idea, but I'd like to see a X1 turned into a PC with only the parts that are in the console. Not gutting it out and replacing with PC parts. I'm talking mods, jailbreaking, whatever you gotta do to keep it as original as you can outside of software. Obv the software is going to have to change.

Lovely video, my friend. It was nice seeing these consoles come back to life. Question, would you be interested in taking in my old launch xbox one and the 2 halo 4 controllers I have? The disc drive doesn't always recognize games and when typing in chat at least one of the controllers a button double clicks and puts more than one of the selected inputs. Neither controller has drift or other issues. It's been a while since I used them both since getting my series X and its newfangled controller. However the series x controller has also started having the a button double click when typing in chat. (Is this a common issue with Xbox controllers?)

Have you ran into any with these symptoms? I am about to toss it as it did not cost me anything. Power supply seems fine. Press power button, get a power on tone and light goes white about 5 seconds later it beeps and turns off. I have replaced the HD. Its a 1540 model.

2:58 On my Xbox, a similar thing happened where it was white when plugged in, but the light became orange when it was turned off. The console can get power, though. Also, 6:50 I think the disc drive thinks that there's a disc near it. Reason I think that is because it sounds like it's trying to take in the disc. A similar thing happened with my Wii, actually.

Great job Joey. Your diagnostic steps Use ur face specifically around ur lips to detect heat. Its the most sensitive part of your body. For the other one with the mess a wire brush meant for boards are great.

@@JoeyDoesTech last time I was commenting I was running out of battery. Your diagnostic steps lead you straight to the problem and that is all we really want to do. Understand these devices so it requires less time to work on them. I hope you find the short on that board. Measure around the chip you probably have a shorted line. Most likely what that chip outputs and by the looks of it the large via on the right of the chip. Hopefully it’s just a cap on that line but large chips like the cpu or as you say a short inside of the board will not get as hot as the chip. Here injecting voltage on a shorted line (if you find one) would be great for the path to the short should get hot and not the chip. Should help pinpoint it out plus a bench ps probably can deliver a bit more amps than that chip. 😆 Never inject a higher voltage than what that line is rated for. And it helps to limit current on your first time just in case you start burning something bad and damaging the board. 🤣 Great spectacle though. 👍🏽😆

On the 4th one i think, the gunk it could be some juice (coca cola), and everything with sugar if you apply heat with heat gun it just make things worse! The best solution from my experience is distilled or demineralized water!

Stick the number 4 board in a sonic cleaner, that should clean it.

Corr it's a good question. I've still not sold all the Xboxes, but all of the spare parts were from broken Xboxes so it would be really hard to tell. I reckon I've used maybe £30-40 in spare parts if I were to add it up :)
