Hey, I am not a repair technician nor do I have experience, just an observation since UART lists the errors from number zero, maybe, just maybe, it also lists the ram from number 0, which means it was talking about the 6th ram stick
@LuxusFrontier5 ай бұрын
Hey Joey, usually in IT we start counting from 0. Maybe that’s your issue? You started counting from 1, try counting from 0 instead. Just a thought.
@sdjmchattie5 ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Either the top left isn’t the first chip, you don’t count in a circular fashion, or the index starts at zero. I would be taking the RAM chip to the left off. The Cod3r should know since he added the UART code to the database.

After hearing the 'strictly for parts' part, i will say it will be a no fix. gonna watch the rest of the video to see if i am correct

Take off DDR6 number 4 and see if it gives the same error, could just be spurious!

Crazy that every diagnostic code Ive seen in that database was logged by The Cod3r. He contributes so much to the community and is one of the reasons I even found Joey's channel.

because counting starts from 0 not from 1 so the 4th may be the faulty, i even didn't finished the video

Hi, I think you should reball the APU, the error means that there is a problem between APU and RAM. Good luck.

Yes, it seems likely to be a bad pad under the apu. Northern Repairs would be a good channel to watch

During the whole video after the first mention of DDR6-5 I was thinking that the APU could have some liquid metal shorting a couple of pins around the edge in the direction where the VRAM 5 chip is. Sure, it didn''t look like liquid metal had spilled anywhere, but it's also very obvious that it was worked on before, Maybe the previous technician cleaned it up and thought nothing of it afterwards.

Joe word of advice soak up some of the flux out of the solder paste in a hand towel too much flux is in the mechanic paste that is what is causing it not to reball properly if that doesn't work its the stencil some stencil are not good under heat it warps or solder balls is stuck to the stencil instead of the chip

If that error message is anything like the ps4, it is a communication error between the apu and that ram ic, so the issue is probably apu joint related, did you check the apu for physical damage after removing the liquid metal?
@CallumRepairs5 ай бұрын
With the number of oxidized solder joints on this motherboard, I wouldn't be surprised if the APU wasn't making a proper connection.
