Join along for a full day in the life as an airline pilot. This is what we call a day turn in the airline world. The airline I fly for has been moving more towards these so I’ll probably be sharing more of this in the future. Day turns have their positives and negatives to them but I don’t mind having them mixed into my schedule. Being able to sleep in your own bed and workout at your local gym is an awesome perk. Also being able to go home and spend time with family and friends daily is great. Don’t sleep on Dave and Buster date nights haha. I hope you enjoy the video✈️

Thank you for sharing you trip. I hope ypu will be ready for upcoming marathons. Yes, getting ready to do early morning day turns trips are not too bad.😊 You are right about coming back home by the early afternoon and then you can do some errands for the day. For me, as I became more senior I did not bid for day turns. But I loved holding the two day trips more so. The one leg out to the layover city then on day two one or two legs back home. Then having a day or two off after those trips were very nice. I liked having the days totally off to do errands.😊 Secondly, for me, after I had passed the F/A purser leadership program, I could hold the fake three days trips by having on day two leaving late at night from the layoverl to do the "red eye" flights home and getting by 5:30am or 6:00am. Then having rest of that third day off to do errands was very nice as well.😊 Finally, the international trips were another story.😊😊

Hahaha! I hear you! Orher pilots with other airlines have to deal with similar work bidding schedules based upon seniority. ☺ Yes, me, before a former Purser F/A from my former company United here in Chicago it is about seniorityas well! Now, I have another close best friend here in Chicago and she has been flying now for 33 years. She, my friend Stacey, holds turns with her seniority. She takes care of her Mother whom she brought to Chicago from Philadelphia some years ago. Stacey can hold two day or three trips but really over the last 7 to 9 years it has been turns dealing with her Mother medical concerns.

it gave me a sense of closure to finally see your apartment in its entirety! we always see little bits and pieces of it from different angles and try to come up with a composite. But now we know for sure what it looks like. It blows my mind how comfortable you are plunging in the cold plunge for minutes every day, it is supposed to counter inflammation and improve vascular health and cause serotonin and other feel good neurotransmitters to be released. But it's so cold! You look as comfortable as a manatee swimming near Siesta Key (or really a polar bear swimming near the arctic circle)... how do you do it?!?

If i start work late in the day i just end up worrying about work untill i go and it ruins the day. But when you start early you get it done and then you can relax. So def early start, i would pick that anny day of the week. But by far the worst thing is having them after eachother wich means you cant establish a good sleep cycle.
