@@JoeyPaulOnline I’m glad this can be helpful. I’m constantly doing the work because, if I’m gonna do the sensitivity readings, I must learn and continue to learn. So of course I share. Thank you for existing. 💜

Thanks! I do a lot of disability related content, and it always seems to do well!

I needed this video many, many years ago when I was writing my first major dragon fantasy. I definitely used the "healed via magic" trope, and I now know how terrible that is. Agreed on all points. I've learned so much over the years, and I still learn more every day. Forever learning!

@@SDHegyes It's easy enough to make the mistakes, but it's good to go into learning how to avoid them again, and it's good to always be learning!

OT here - love your channel and message, disabilities are a huge spectrum and I think the best writers/authors would not only respect but also enjoy the process of researching and accurately representing populations/characters/conditions! ❤

Yup, my thoughts exactly! Glad to see you!

I'm working on a story with a mute side character right now. It wasn't until doing research that I learned that people can sign with only one hand! It seemed obvious after the fact, but I hadn’t even thought about it until I did some reading. I'd already written a little while in the planning stage, however that little fact alone is going to make me rewrite what little I've already done.

Yeah, sometimes it’s later down the line that we realise whoops, need to rewrite that bit otherwise it’s not gonna make sense, and it can even add to the story itself! Good luck with rewrites!

Think that’s Mink but they all do that. We have four of them and if they decide to play in the background, I’m not gonna stop them!
