I kinda disagree with both, I hate both asspulls and giving obvious clues in a mystery series. Tbf he hasn't done weekly schedule for quite some while anymore. Usually nowadays the series goes on quite long multiweek breaks between cases. Admittedly though still massive respect for him since the breaks are usually there for him do a lot of research for each case. Guess it's is needed after all since it became quite noticeable with most newer chapters how they could get more complex. Also feel like plot make much more progress recent with every chapter seemingly hinting or giving more and more detail for the overall plot.

The vending machine isekai ended up actually being one of the few unique isekai that commits to its weird premise and did a ton of really creative shit with it without just making the protagonist generic and overpowered. It wasn't at all the same tropes people are used to and he had to actually figure out how to get by with his situation without any cheats and people watched one episode and shit on it because they convinced themselves it was going to be like everything else.

Thanks Joey for pointing out how mazinger from go nagai is the Godfather of modern Mecha. It was in fact such an inspiration that they even played into the fact in the Mazinger Zero manga. They literally used the power of fiction to summon various power that mirrors various mecha from various franchises both west and Japan and the MC literally does it by writing a fictionous story about mazinger which will help motivating others to write spawning more fictious story that will help him. Funny thing is that one of the first story that he helped to spawn was written out of spite (which I believe is a reference to Gundam being a deconstruction of Mazinger and the superobot genre it helped to create). Here are several examples of isekai that I feel are pretty awesome and varied: - Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! (Awesome characters and humour) - Handyman Saitou in Another World (Awesome D&D adventure with some solid comedy) - Reincarnated as a Sword (Sounds weird but trust me, it's good) - Ascendance of a Bookworm (One of my favorites - very wholesome yet serious at times) - The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent (Fantasy slice of life) - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Awesome character development and worldbuilding) There's others but I'll stop here.

@@androognoix1685 Valid point. But I still disagree with his strict negative verdict - he is basically dissuading people from watching an otherwise great show.

Mazinger Z falls more into the fun side of Mecha, with pure evil villans, and the main focus is on the fighting, think Gundam build fighters. I believe it was Gundam who introduced the political intruge we see in so many mecha anime. The mecha genre did pretty much start with Mazinger Z and Astro Boy technically, but Gundam is the godfather of it's own side of the mecha genre

Mazinger Z falls into the Super Robot side of mecha while Gundam falls into the realistic side of mecha, that's the main difference AFAIC and that's what I consider Gundam to be the godfather of.

While Mazinger is indeed on the Superrobot side it of mecha it did still innovate the concept that mecha needed a pilot getting into it's cockpit to control it. Before that there where only Astro Boy or Robots that where remote controlled. Gundam on the other hand is in the truest sense a mecha deconstruction of Mazinger and Superrobot genre and Gundam and somewhat with help of Space Battleship Yamato(i know it's not a mecha but it also help with groundwork towards a more militaristic/realism approach) godfathered what is known as realrobot with it's more militaristic/realistic and political approach.
