I don't know if you were around at the time, but DD was pretty much the biggest band of the 80s. Not just in popularity but it was not uncommon for people to describe them as 'genius'. Under appreciated isn't a word I'd have associated with them.

Yes your right!.. Simon lebon and micheal jackson did have one thing in common with live performances, they both came out JUMPING OFF stage !. But no one gave there fans 110 percent like these guys!.

ANDY TAYLOR: Good in the studio, the unchained animal on lead guitar. ROGER TAYLOR: Very solid drummer. SIMON LeBON: His lyrics have a different meaning to the individual and his dance style: at times you'd think "This guy's about to land in the 10th row!" When "The Reflex" came out, I was working at a record store with the jheri curls goin' on, a used Trans Am, black with phoenix on the hood. I was heavily into Prince, listening to "1999'' before going out to a club... Amy was this stunning blonde that was into Duran Duran, especially John Taylor. Man, I wanted her so damn bad I bought all their albums and remixes so I could start humming "Hungry Like The Wolf" or "Planet Earth". Stupid game I was playing but it worked! Next thing ya know I'm wearing the black parachute pants with white Jazz shoes. My cuz Charlie played the bass so taught me how play "Hungry Like The Wolf", "The Reflex" and easier DD bass lines. Not "Rio". "As The Lights Go Down" was DD concert on HBO. I borrowed Charlie's bass tried to play along with some of the songs. Good luck keeping up with John Taylor. We had some wine coolers, a couple shots and when "Save A Prayer" come on, it was ON. First love together for two years, Prince released "Erotic City". I got caught cheatin' and never saw her again. Thanks again, John Taylor.
