Congratulations!!👋 A pretty strong performance in passing through this thicket. Apparently Otto could pass some of his sniffer qualities to you. Good further hike!👍

once again a very enjoyable video, some of those walkways looked like they hadn’t walk along in months, Otto looks like he’s taking to those sheep, as always looking forward to your next adventure. 😊

Thank you so much :) Yes, some paths had definitely not been used for quite some time :) Otto loved the sheep, it was like watching a movie for him :) hahaha

Delightful vlog, Elli. At my age (71) and as a resident I should know why Dunblane Cathedral doesn't make the place a city. It all depends if there's a bishop in residence. Otherwise it's a church. I follow Scot (Endorphins) channel and noticed you two bumped into each other a few episodes ago. He didn't mention you by name but once her mentioned you and a rescue dog doing the end2end walk who else could it be! What are we to do once you, Otto and Scot complete your adventure. ATB and thanks again 👏👏

Keeping footpaths & bridleways (people + horses + 2 wheeled things) clear is the responsibility of the local village councils, who's adherence to the requirements is completely variable... 😕 Such lovely relaxed sheep, they'd obviously been bought up around dogs or never seen one before ...I wonder which 🤔A good experience for Otto. 😮 huuge chimneys on the 14 century cottages! btw Carlisle on the western end of Hadrian's wall is the largest city in the UK - population ~108,000. Cities are settlements with a cathedral...🤔 To my atheist mind, a city is an urban area that takes more than half an hour to drive out of, from the centre - so only London meets that definition in the UK. +6:04 it probably doesn't help but those cows looked relaxed and inquisitive, and they were young - probs

thank you so much for your comment :) Yes, I think you're right with the cows.... I was scared a bit because there was a lot of dynamic and they were running towards me, but I could get to another gate and even though they closely followed us, it turned out to be ok :) Otto was fascinated by the sheep, hahaha..... Most times (if they were running away from us on a trail) he would be tempted to chase them (which of course he's not allowed to do) but since they were behind the gate and curious, he just wanted to look at them and didn't even want to leave :)

I've never been to Wells, but having seen this video it's on my list now, thank you! Those nettles and brambles looked pretty nasty though...

Wells is really worth a visit, it's a bit like travelling back in time :) I've never seen anything like this before :)

What a wonderful video Elli, great information of the places you been too. Nothing worse than over grown footpaths, hope Otto was ok being so small. And hope your legs were ok in the end , as a person myself love my shorts but not nice those paths . Did Otto say a little prayer i wonder? Respect to you both take care

Hi Elli and Otto. Oh no Nettles shit shit shit 😂 lol Sorry Elli but that was funny. Another fantastic video with more amazing views. Them Sheep were So cute and friendly however, those cows looked like they had you pinned in a corner and were ready to attack. I meant to say in a previous video your English is excellent a hell of a lot better than my German as I only know a few words such as danke schoen. One last thing I loved that short little video with Otto using the notepad very very funny. ✌️😋

Thank you so much! I couldn't laugh when I hiked that overgrown stretch and my legs were scratched and itchy the entire night - but yes, when I rewatched the footage now I had to laugh too :) The cows scared me a bit because there was a lot of dynamic in the herd (they also chased each other and just seemed agitated) and they followed us very closely, but I could get out of the field without any bigger problems :) I carried Otto which also made them a bit less interested.....

If u use dock leaves to alleviate nettle sting don’t rub all u need to do is squeeze the fluid out and place the liquid on the affected parts and great video btw
@ellihikes Жыл бұрын
I didn't know that! Thank you so much for the advice, definitely trying that next time :)

The dock leaves usually grow right next to the nettles too :)
