@@ellihikes Have you pre arranged your drops or does someone else send parcels en route for you?
@ellihikes Жыл бұрын
Both.... I sent some parcels ahead before leaving, then ordering things online and have them sent to campsites etc. and friends that sent us things too 😊

Excellent videos Elli, waiting to see how your hike works through the country to Cornwall. How does Otto manage the miles day after day? Does he were anything on his feet? Well done to you both. Ade 👏

Thank you! We hike a lot and his paws are pretty toughened up, he has never had any issues with them. But I carry boots for emergencies for him :)

Been looking forward to your update. Was thinking, how long do you think your shoes will last and do you have a plan to replace them too? If I recall, they were new when you started?
@ellihikes Жыл бұрын
I've worn them for about 50km before starting and they usually last between 500-700km until I need to replace them. With all the road walking probably closer to 500km this time....
@COYSMike Жыл бұрын
@@ellihikes I'm like you and prefer wearing trail running shoes over proper heavier hiking boots. But as you say, they don't last as long especially when you're road walking too.
@ellihikes Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's the only downside 😔😪

We love your videos and have been to many of the places you pass through. By the way, you keep referring to Ticks. Looking at what you showed on the sticky tape in your tent, they are almost certainly Midges. Scotland is plagued with them, but ticks are much larger and DO NOT fly
@ellihikes Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! The footage dates a few weeks back, they were ticks, the young ones (nymphes). When you own a dog, you're very familiar with ticks 😅🙈 Midges came out about 1 week ago, so I've encountered both....
