The thing i love the most about Messi’s career is that, he won everything so i don’t feel bad that his time as a baller is nearly up or that he’s not the explosive phenom he was in 2008, rather i think fondly of all the unbelievable memories he’s given me for nearly 2 decades and the fact i was there pretty much from the start. He doesn’t owe himself anything and he doesn’t owe us anything, he maximised his god given qualities and we should not feel bad. In a strange way, I’m looking forward to when he retires so we can pay closer attention to who the new guys are and what they bring.

So, you got to have a mixture of both, hence the legendary Barcelona team of Messi/Xavi/Iniesta and so on, will remain pinnacle of football, where we got to see beautiful football but also results.
