Attempted to upload this video in a even higher quality than I thought possible, so will never have to update this score ever again, or others like it.

Spent years listen to the B minor not knowing this gem existed .....my loss huh.
@lylecohen1638 Жыл бұрын
The B-minor mass is his only “original” mass. This, and his other masses, are wholly made of recycled cantata movements.

0:00 Mistake? it's written b-moll instead of g-moll
@TheOneAndOnlyZeno3 жыл бұрын
No mistake, just a weird font. It begins on a G Minor chord and ends on a Picardy third.

Lol, it's a reused Herr Deine Augen sehen nach dem Glauben. Would be interesting to know which came first

Sounds more like it’s in F# minor

Imo this mass is better than B-minor mass
@TheOneAndOnlyZeno3 жыл бұрын
It is underrated for certain

Also in my opinion. B minor lacks cohesion, is an endless succession of totally different items, some very good but many not so, like that weird piece for bass and 2 bassoons that sounds very bad.

@@christianwouters6764 The "Quoniam tu solus Sanctus" is actually my favourite movement of the Mass, especially the Horn part :P

You can't compare masterpieces, expesially when we talking about Bach's music. You can say that this mass is underrated, you find it interesting and more entertaining (or something you feel), but it is not "better", because every Bach's big work (not to say every work) is unquestionably perfect
