Letting the pedestrians cross and giving way to other cars… I’m not used to it😂. Another lovely vlog. Johanna you have an absolute talent for creating the most serene videos. Your little family is lovely and luckily both parents come from the more naturally beautiful countries in the world which makes Annika a very lucky little kid. All she needs is a sibling!

It is no wonder why, for the seventh year in a row, Finland has landed the top spot on the World Happiness Report's annual ranking of the happiest countries in the world. Congratulations ❤ I jave noticed Finland deliberately avoiding building new buildings and trying to restore and adapting the old ones habitable. That is a very nature-friendly best practice by its inhabitants. It is praiseworthy ❤ I guess camping in the countryside is quite a common Scandinavian thing. We also have camping culture, and we call the vehicle Camper. A friend of mine and her daughter often stroll in and out of the country on their camper. Dear Johanna, Life is short, and so enjoy every tiny bit of it as much as possible by making fantastic memories because it is not money that makes you happy, rather the moments well spent with ourselves and our beloved ones. It was fabulous to seeing Annika's stupor when exploring camper for the dirst time.

Yes, most people either go camping or own a summer cottage in the middle of the forest 😊 and mostly those summer cottages are older, traditional simple small houses too! But whatever the choice for everyone is, we usually go out into the nature in the summers because that is the easiest, most pleasant season to enjoy it!

Namaste Johanna, Vinod & of course Annika! It's wonderful that you can visit and spend time in Finland in summer. Nature is at its loveliest here then - and it's more pleasant temperature-wise than "back home" in Bharat. I look to seeing your podcast from your travels on the Turku Archipelago Ring road! Finland's old capital Turku (where I live) is also worth a visit. Back in the 1990s I was stationed for years in India - mainly H.P. Cheers!

Finnish people and Finlad are exactly in total contrast with India and its inhabitants. If India is noisy, messy, and overwhelmingly crowded, Finlands stands the opposite. It's a palpable contrast.
@i.kiran21Ай бұрын
Yes there's a total contrast...I see extra bit of quietness and extreme weather conditions for most of the time in Finland and not much of diverse culture can make it boring sometimes...but India manages to surprise in every positive way... including diversity of culture, language,food, weather, heritage and yes people too...which is fascinating 😊
@naninani1549Ай бұрын
It's stupid to compare India to Finland, if Take A single state in India as Big as Finland ex Take Maharashtra which is smaller than Finland has a population of 140Million People compared to Entire Finland population with immigrants is less than 6million, which has population density of 15/16persons per sq kilometres, and it doesn't surrounded by countries with huge Muslims population with Unstable Economies entering india illegally in 10's of millions for the last 6decades, even if you remove those 300+ million illegals a lot would be changed. And mostly they don't even speak English in Finland compared to other European countries.
@elisabetta4478Ай бұрын
@naninani1549 Let us rather take China as an example in terms of population or vastness. They are calm and orderly folk despite being numerous. What I'm trying to say is that it is not the dense population or vastness that determines the customs of a country, whether it is tiny or vast. It is rather its inhabitants that shape a country. On the note of English language, of course, they won't speak English because for them, their language is their identity, neither Chinese do. Why would they speak a British language to give credit to the British empire? Neanche io sono contenta di dover comunicare in inglese con il mondo esterno. Ahimè, la monarchia britannica può essere orgogliosa di questa loro eredità linguistica lasciata in giro per il mondo durante il colonialismo.
@5400zanskarАй бұрын
@@elisabetta4478Totally agree with what you have said. Why would any country speak English, unless it’s their native mother tongue…

My American friend was living in Japan, where the driving is on the left side. He did not have any problems as long as he was afraid and was being careful. As soon as he became more confident, he had an accident, because he instinctively took a wrong turn when he thought he did not have be careful anymore as he thought he got used to driving in Japan. So one has to be vigilant while driving in the country with the opposite driving side, even after driving for a few months.

I am a firm believer that Indians can drive anywhere once they know about the rules of country and get adjusted to that right hand driving. Btw, I noticed one thing in your Finnish videos that Sun is a very, very, very important aspect of Finnish life, isnt it? When I was studying in Bengaluru, we used to have this students exchange program. We go to goreign college and they come to our college. In that fashion, two foreign students have come to our college. One was from France and another one from Manchester, England. So, I used to ask this girl from England why she is so dull and boring all the time. She told me she is normal. Then this French guy told me they are from North and they are like that and they don't talk much. If you go even North from England, those North Europeans are even worse. I asked them if it is their lifestyle and she answered me that it is more to do with the Sun. Back then I didn't understand, but later on, when I noticed during monsoon season, I got their point. She told me many negative things about not having Sun in daily life. Back then I didn't realise what she said. However, later I noticed what she said when we didn't get Sun for more than a week in monsoon. You never realise about your country unless someone tells you.
@JohannaNorthАй бұрын
That’s a really interesting observation and I agree, we definitely appreciate the sun when we get it! 😁
