Great tone quality from all the singers. Impressive! Vowels, too.

Wow! This is a fantastic performance! The sound seems to come from a larger group--only six male voices? Eight female? Really? The choir sounds bigger than that. More importantly, the intonation and German diction are perfect. The conductor has achieved impressive blend by getting everyone's vowels to match. She's got command of the whole ensemble as the cut-offs and entrances are together and the piano is right with them, for example the last "nicht mehr" at the end of "Wenn ich ein...", which is perfect. And she lets fresh, young voices sound like fresh young voices instead of pushing them for an older sound. Well done pianists, clean, accurate, and musical. All around an excellent performance. Somewhere, Brahms' ghost is smiling.
