All these have been highly requested. Decided to put them in one mega tutorial, because this made it easier to talk about the technique differences. See the timestamps for each part of the video in the description and in the timeline of the video.

I'm Japanese, so English isn't my first language, but I always listen to your courses because they're so polite and easy to understand! The gainer switch is a technique I'm working on right now and it's very helpful! My landing is still low and I can't swing through. Do I just need to focus on jumping higher? Or do I just need to be aware of how to speed up the rotation?

People seem to think there is a "secret sauce" or tip that will unlock a trick for them, but really, I think you nailed it when you said it just takes a ton of work, way more than you would imagine. I was editing a video a while back about how I learned the gainer flash, and when I edited all of the clips down, (each clip was a second or less in length) the video was 10 minutes of ONLY gainer flash attempts I performed over the course of 5 - 7 months. I estimate that I only recorded about 1/5 of my attempts, and I still haven't mastered it. It is getting better though, slowly. Great video btw!

@@johzuke1 things like a more detailed tutorial about blocking of backhandspring or backflip(I have seen your tumbling tutorial but i don't really understand small details in execution, on my channel I post my highlights and my progression and for my backhandsprings you can find the video on my channel I am just forcing my backhandspring to continue rather than using my momentum and blocking, also when I get used to roundoff backhandsprings my roundoff backflip becomes worse than before(which I think is because of my blocking) hopefully this explains what Im trying to say you can find my consecutive backhandspring attempts on my channel thank you, I would just like some tips or a video to help :) Your tips and tutorials influenced me to make my tricks cleaner
@johzuke14 жыл бұрын
@@maxzhao8331 Ah I just checked it out. Your problem isn't the blocking. It's just that your technique is still very unrefined. Watch my video again and compare how I do my bhs compared to yours (body position, arm placement and other details such as timing). You might not be able to make the changes immediately because you don't have the requires power yet. But little by little 👍🏻 Oh and one more thing, your roundoff goes a little over the side, which is something I talked about being a bad thing in my tutorial. Fix that first because a good roundoff will unlock more power imediately.

@johzuke14 жыл бұрын
I learned it in 2011. I started out with the tucked version and it took me years to make it clean. If I would have trained it with more intention it would have been a way faster process. If you fall, try to make the changes slower. Change it little by little, one thing at a time.

I have a big problem with gainer flash. I try to drive my kicking leg entire time, but in the middle of trick the leg stops driving automatically and I feel like the leg is falling down with the gravity even before I do a half of the gainer flash. And after a moment the leg is driving again, so it looks like a small pause with driving it, but it kills my power and I cannot land it. Any suggestions how can I fix it?
@johzuke13 жыл бұрын
Master the easier steps! Swing 540 etc. You recognice your problem so by just working on the basic things and progressing little by little you will be able to get better by time.
@qyzu3 жыл бұрын
@@johzuke1 I tried to learn it using sw 540, but changing the move from horizontal to vertical feels like entire different trick, so unfortunately this progression is not for me.
