Bro I just came back from SA and it’s banging. Been there 5 times and I’m moving there in 2022. The one thing I can say is that if your a single dude from the states and you got charisma and got your money right then you can live good over there. Not even live good but have a good vacation and create them memories. You will never get bored because that place has loads of spots to go to from the day time or night. From Joburg to Capetown, it’s always something to do and with the dollar so strong, you can do even more. Keep up the good work!!

Kabelo Motswana, I absolutely agree with you on that one. Rather use a phrase such as "Developed" instead of "Americanised". It is rather deep, because that is proclaiming that South Africa or any other Developed Country in Africa are allegedly owned and marginalized by Countries such as the USA and England. We cannot still be so small minded after 400 plus years after slavery... It is rather deep if you look at such a narrative, although people tend to ignore it. We have been working to get unleashed from being captured under "Slave Related Terms"... One word means a lot if you are open minded. Sending love, light and hope to all.

Bro, this narrow mind of saying modern things are to be Americanised may affect your viewership. What are you expecting Africa to be like? I was going to subscribe but, nooo., you should choose your words very carefully, and not expose your pre conceived ideas about Africa. disappointed.

When you've been told (brain washed) for so long what the continent is (3rd world poor diseased etc...) One is pleasantly surprised to see that its not! I think the "ones" who is telling us AA this really don't want us to find out the truth because I think they spend their time enjoying SA! Honestly I was like this is like the states but better because I wasn't a minority anymore, the only time I saw a police was traffic accidents. Every other car was a benze, range, BMW etc.. Heck I even saw Bently car lot! Maybe Americanized was not the right choice but they didn't mean no harm. We (AA) just gotta get what "they" taught us out of our heads because A LOT still have this thinking... I heard it when I returned to the states. Oh yeah I'm trying to come back in December because June was freezing for this guy from FL!

I commend AA for taking that huge step and coming to Africa, it's a big step. I can't imagine how much you go against your own preconceptions when you get here, so if there are slip ups here and there, let's guide each other and not bash the guy. BURNING QUESTION: knowing that South Africa is the most developed country in africa, Why did you choose to videograph the povety side of south Africa which is often always pushed by western media?essentially, why do Americans love highlighting the poverty striken side of Africa and never highlight our development .. dont you think it strengthens the idea that black people are incapable and that the real africa is poverty..genuine question

To be fair I thought the video was balanced, he did show parts of the glitzy Joburg and the ghetto ones. It can't always be about the glitz and glamour nor the poverty, show both sides. That's being real imho. My only gripe is the lady misrepresenting SA people, even the weather 🤦🏿‍♂️
@tyali84

Great point Nash. I am myself based in the US and i follow a lot of these youtubers who claim to want to show a different side of the continent yet they seem to always stray back to the negatives. Trust me, when i say the world already sees us in the negative light and sometimes i would hope these vloggers who travel to the continent would push a different agenda.
@tyali84
@tyali84 2 жыл бұрын
@@molefemokhine9557 there is no need to be balanced. The world already knows the dark, poverty side of our continent. I live in Boston, USA and do you even know how many times people dispute that I come from Africa? Their opinions are based on everyday negative images that they are being fed daily. So trust me when i say that we don't need another video that shows even a trace of poverty because they already think we are all in need. Americans who want to come to the continent don't watch these videos to be fed more stereotypes of poverty; they actually want to see the glitz and glamour because they are hoping another reality of Africans exists besides the faces of hunger or failing infrastructure.
