ok, I kind of love "the sober one is currently on tour," kind of because it's totally inscrutable--to us. Obviously this is just conjecture but it really sounds like an inside joke this person had with close friends or family, and now etched into their memory is a little piece that only the ones closest to them get to have access to. It's okay if we don't get it, it's not *for* us. A graveyard is so public and we all get access to this part of a person's legacy, and I think it's really charming for someone to say "no, you don't get to understand everything about who I was, you never *knew* me. That part of me is only for the people I love." I really like that perspective, and I hope the people who get the joke got a good laugh out of it.

How’re you?’ And if that’s not a sweet epitaph I don’t know what is.

My great grandparents have "We put up a hell of a fight" on their tombstone. The thing is, no one knows why it says that. The cousins who ordered the tombstone didn't request it. Based on this video, I have to share a book recommendation. Waiting for Gertrude by Bill Richardson is a book based on the cemetery Pere Lechaise in Paris, where many famous artists and creatives are buried.
