As usual, sound advice from one of the Uk’s premier experts on bait. He has probably forgotten, more than I’ll ever know on bait ingredients and flavours. Thanks John 👍🏻

John love your videos I’ve been carp fishing for 49 years. so I always made my home hook baits, was fishing before the hair rig become commonly known. A good friend of mine that you will know, Chris Hasswell always used a long hair.

Reminded me of Phil Thompson's favourite hookbait 'the unscented white pea' he used long hairs and 18 inch hooklengths.

Brilliant advice John I used your chicken bait years ago on orchid with pete jarachuck I think you called it the cluck in them days which of your mixes would you put it with these days had some mega fish on it keep up the very helpful videos. 👍
@johnbakerbaits91083 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry, I remember you and Pete very well, the one to go for with my roast chicken flavour is Taste F-2 which doesn’t contain fish meal, very savoury and yeasty - you’ll love it and it’s different. Happy new year, all the best for 2021 and good luck! John

Great John! Back in the late 80's I fished Yateley match lake one winter. There was no weed that year and I had 6 takes on 3ft double strength nylon hooklinks, long hairs, running leads and single milk protein HNV baits bottom baits. I think the next best catch rate was half of that.
@johnbakerbaits91083 жыл бұрын
HNV baits are the only option in my opinion!

Love the channel it's given me a great understanding of flavours. HELP!! If I were to make 15mm boilie hook baits using a fishmeal basemix and your 1 egg 0.2/1.0ml plumb and ala salar flavourings how long would you say to boil them so I do not ruin the flavour and would that be a simmering or boiling pan of water.
@paulfranciosi81553 жыл бұрын
I' stopped years ago using 4in hooklinks and never looked back.

never really thought of this topic. I will devinitely consider it in spring. I'm a huge fan of the Ala Salar flavour because most time i use the Baitservice Straubing Big Fish 60 Boilies. All year round i fish a Ala Salar 20mm whafter and it never leaves me down. Could you cover the topic of this flavour?
@johnbakerbaits91083 жыл бұрын
Could do an in detail video of the story behind Ala Salar and how to use it to its full potential, would that be something you’d be interested in? Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the reply John all the best to you aswel is there a firm you could recommend to roll your bait for me as I take it you don't roll anymore im fishing the mangrove swamp for the last 20years so I am wanting to give the chicken ago on there being an old ice age mere full of deep silt whats your thoughts regards jerry
@johnbakerbaits91083 жыл бұрын
Really sorry, if its good bait (and I hope mine is) you only need a small amount to get results. no matter how busy you are there should be time to make a 3 egg mix! Also, you can make at least 80 hook baits in under 1 hour using fresh ingredients. Take back control and give it a go. For the mangrove try a combination of caramel banana and maple, this will cut through the silty smell but you need to make wafters and use pop ups, good luck. JB
