@K S 3 years old? C'mon man ...3 yrs old ... u didn't have the slightest idea of how to pee at that age, yet you're telling us that after all these years have passed, you decided to feel bad about Bonham's passing, enough to cry? WOW, are u a woman, if so, then it would make sense. Heck, I LOVE the NY Yankees, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig died decades before I was born, but I don't cry at people that died 40 years before I was born. Oh well...hard to believe, but...PEACE to you.... you need it.

I never understood how some English farmer / construction worker with a decidedly un-funky upbringing could be more funky than any black drummer in Detroit or Memphis or Chicago . But he was. Robert Plant tells a story about John sitting in with Bobby Blue Bland and the guys were all leaning in towards Bonham by the end of the gig because the feel was just undeniable. And then he could turn around and play something as powerful and driving like the Wanton Song and move a hard rock fan to tears

Yeah my birthday was coming up and I was going to get tickets when they went on sale , I heard the news right before school so me and a friend cut school walked to his house bummed out when we got there my friend was a drummer put on some Zeppelin and for the next hour and a half just started playing Zeppelin songs I wasn't expecting that but it was a fitting tribute to a man that we felt like was a friend of ours , that was a sad day but I will always remember the drum tribute my friend did for John. Rest in peace my friend you are gone but not forgotten

Bonzo was not only a great drummer,he could kiss the drums ,then attack them like a madman, with his one kick pedal going 100 miles an hour. I was 15 years and said to myself, should I go home and practice or quit. Went home and stayed at it .I'm 66 today, and John Henry Bonham ♥ has helped my style of play 100%.Only Bonzo is Bonzo, My point is,listen carefully to his, kick ,snare,hi-hat combinations.

I saw them play the 1st gig at Knebworth back in 79, luckily in the UK on holidays, but the gig in Adelaide in 1972 where I was about 30 metres from the stage in an elevated position may well be the best 3ish hours of my life! Bonzo was nothing short of brilliant, and Percy in his open to the pubic hair shirt got my girlfriend pretty excited. Helped me a bit later that night! Long may Zep live.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime alchemy. The rift creation of both Jimmy and John paul, the stunning vocals and later the amazing lyrics of robert, and the ability to take riffs and turn them into a groove by the ability to lay amazing timing and rhythms on top of these stunning creations. This is a once-in-a-lifetime alchemy, like me, continue to enjoy it. There won't be another.

It was the perfect understanding of the swing or "hip hop" triplet groove. He incorporated that swing feel in everything including straight rythem. It was an amazing thing to hear especially back then. It created that sort of "bounce" in his feel . Considering the first album was recorded in 1968 his drumming is absolutly unprecedented .He realy has no equel.

I'm 63 now and was there for all of it. He was already a star in his own right and, at times, out shown the other three. Thru 1968 and '69 I didn't pay much attention to Led Zeppelin. Then a friend played the fourth album cranked up for me. I heard Black Dog for the first time and thought, bloody hell, what sort of monster is on drums. That was it for me. The legend was real. He passed in September of 1980 and three months later John Lennon was murdered. It was a bit of a rough spot for all of us.
