The 1970's were the start of the real rock ‘n roll extravagance. There are quite a few stories about the excesses of Led Zeppelin, and in particular, their drummer, John Bonham. Bonham was born in Redditch England on May 31st, 1948, and started playing drums at age 5. He would go on to become one of the world’s most celebrated drummers, and would also go on to have one of the most unique car collections in rock history. While all members of the band had impressive car collections in their own right, usually the focus on Led Zeppelin and cars is riveted on Bonzo. Today, we're diving into the car collection of the legendary drummer, John Bonham. Let's begin.
John Bonham, John Bonham car collection, John Bonham cars, Bonzo, Bonzo cars, LED Zeppelin drummer, Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin car collection, Led Zeppelin cars, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Bonham exotic car collection, John Bonham Hot Rods, 1923 Ford T Bucket, 1975 Pontiac Trans Am, Mercedes 600 Pullman, Ferrari 400i, Jensen FF Mark I, Jensen FF Mark II, 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona Spyder, Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, 1972 Jensen Interceptor Mark III, 1976 Jensen Interceptor Mark II, 1915 Ford Model T C-Cab Hot Rod, 1965 Shelby AC Cobra 427, Corvette, 1971 Corvette Stingray, 1954 Ford, 1978 Jeep J10 Pickup, Lamborghini Countach, Jaguar XK120, Jaguar XK140, 1972 Mercedes 220 Sedan, Led Zeppelin music

I was lucky enough to be in a club called Mother Blues in Dallas Texas one night, when Robert and John came in. John started playing drums with the band and I remember one thing about the sound of that band improved 100% immediately. Robert was there to pick up groupies and he walked right into me as I stood right in his way…..Never forget that night.

You can actually compare anything. As an example you can compare the space shuttle with a banana. both are elongated. Both are solid materials. Both are created on Earth. As for drummers, Bonzo is right up there. He can be compared to Jimmy Chamberlain, Dave Grhol, Steven Perkins, Charlie Watts, even Ringo. Neil Peart was too technical. But Bonham was one of a kind. An absolute monster on the skins.

It's pictured on their "Now & Then" album cover with Richard driving and Karen in the passenger seat in front of their parents home in Downey, California. Didn’t know about the apparent connection between Rock drummers and Jensens 😮! In Bonham’s case, it makes sense because he grew up so near the factory (I always liked the Interceptor IIIs 🙂). Did JB also own one of the “factory” right hand drive Daytona Spyders? The GTB pictured is beautiful, and a near ringer for Ruchard Carpenter’s (Bonham’s has the plexi front end, which wasn’t legal in the States because the headlights weren’t far enough off the ground ), but “The Magnificent Seven” are all GTSs (Spyder / convertible). I think all seven still exist - Nick Mason may have one of them.
