Go after Dan Hurley. If he says no, go after...Hurley again. And if he says no, go after...Hurley again. And if he says no, make him get a restraining order before moving on. And if the law says to stop acting like a psycho ex-girlfriend, then try Jay Wright, Tommy Lloyd, and then Nate Oats. Both Lloyd and Oats would jump at the chance to coach UK. Scott Drew would be a colossal failure. The man has one title in over two decades at Baylor, is barely .500 in the Big 12 during that time, and has only won the Big 12 outright ONCE. He's worse than Tubby Smith. No way. Billy Donovan was good with one single recruiting class, caught lightning in a bottle back when George Bush was still president. That's ancient history. Success in college basketball after the advent of the i-Phone should be a prerequisite.

Tubby Smith only won 1 national championship and then went nowhere after that (Cal had 12 trips to the NCAA Tournament, including six trips to the Elite Eight, three trips to the Final Four, National Championship Runner-up and 1 National Championship) ....to compare him to Cal would be like comparing Patino to Joe B. Hall LOLOL Tubby Ball, slowwwww and halfcourt style. Well get used to not having the 5 star Freshman and UK will probably hire a DEI coach based on their skin color or race...Not Merit. LOL

Tubby averaged 26 wins a year for Kentucky , went to the NCAA tournament 🏀 each year (unlike cal ) never lost in the first round of NCAA tournament ( like cal did ) and had the same number of championship 🏆 as John .it was time for him to go .

"One and done" is a cop out excuse for Calipari lack of success every year. It's the coach's responsibility to make whatever adjustment needed for the TEAM to succeed. Coach lacked making that a priority instead focused on being a turnstile program feeding the NBA. It's not a matter of "winning it all" at Kentucky as often falsely reported... but a matter of competing. Cal was the highest paid coach and his other "one and done" which is describing his tourney play is unacceptable. His nonchalant comments about "caring for only 1 tournament" just before getting bounced from SEC tourney in round doesn't set well and it shouldn't! Especially considering the huge fans base traveling, putting both time and energy not to mention the cost to follow the Cats... and he's that dismissive or unconcerned? His ego has gotten to big matching only his windbag mouth. Tired of hearing it... I say good riddance.

But Drew is also very similar in losing gms he shouldn't. Hey? Drew has Passion for the game. Calipari does as well. But Drew assembled one of the greatest backcourts in NCAA HISTORY in 2021-22. Those 3 Backcourt players Drew had? He didn't have do much in-game adjustments. Cuz those 3 were just so gifted/talented. Reason Calipari has 1 Chip? LUCK....... Called the "2011 NBA Lockout." It's not what he did 10 yrs ago, it's what he's done in the last half decade. His recruiting style doesn't work, he's literally had over 10 all stars in the NBA and one NCAA title. As a UK fan , Donovan, Drew, and Wright are my top 3. After that Pitino, Oats, and Pearl. If that all falls through, it's gonna be rough

@@PandyEX. Like someone said. He was just feeding NBA bodies at a cost to the college. These players here to get some time in and show the scouts they could hang, before moving on to the NBA. The only issue when he builds the teams around these players and they leave. Leaves us short or no really backup to fill that empty slot like they did. Maybe Arkansas will get the same result. Get a good class and all them leave the end of the 1st year.

Is it the best job tho?? You just had a guy who built multiple programs to title contenders and multiple deep runs. With all the pressure and expectations that comes with it, I don't think a coach will be quick to sign on except someone who has something to prove, and that most definitely won't be a high level coach, it will be an up and comer.

As a 50+ year KY follower (from Lexington) and a 40 + year AR follower (live in AR), Cal will do well at AR. KY fans get what they wanted with Cal leaving and AR fans get the coach they hated the most - until he became their coach.

The issue was all the Talent teams he had and only a few made it to the final 4. This year knocked out by a no name team. Should been a easy win. We think some of his players just quit giving any effort once some players decided to go pro and did not want to get hurt before going. Hopefully that is wrong and they just sucked compared to the other team.

In those coach statistics, they need to include the total career Technical Fouls of the coach. Those Technical Fouls are terrible and they affect the whole team. They embarrass a team and demoralize the players when a coach acts so respectful during a game. Technicals are totally inexcusable, imo.

Just a quick comparison of KY.,ALA.,and AUB. basketball records for the last 5 years. Remember how many 5 stars KY. has had vs. ALA. and AUB. KY avg. record 21-10, Ala 23-10 and Aub. 23-9. Just saying. Cal. Has been a average coach.
