He used to be seen as a bit of a dick. Refused to talk about certain things for awhile (Halloween being the biggest example) and said he even hated the Halloween series including his original. And he's also mentioned only getting involved in H: 2018 for a big paycheck. So he's either mellowed out, or just likes James lol. Also though, makes great movies. In the Mouth of Madness, Escape From NY and LA (unpopular to love that one, but I do), The Thing, Halloween, Starman, They Live, etc. Classics. All of 'em.

There’s a lot in the franchise I respect and enjoy, but I appreciate his take on the new films and his respect to the legacy of the characters and the films especially the original. These were some great interviews! I personally loved Halloween Kills for the reasons you said - it was a movie entirely dedicated to the people that live in Haddonfield, and it provides a perspective you don't often get from slashers like these.

What an amazing opportunity to speak with both of these individuals. I can appreciate that you went a different way with your questions to carpenter. Learning something new about his hobbies I had no idea about is great. We put him at a certain pedestal, rightfully so but he has other hobbies other than the genre, composing music and film making.
