That takes me back! Way back! I am German and watched Monty Python on German TV as a teenager. It was all dubbed into German - the lip-synchs weren't too bad) - in the mid-1970s. Back then, nobody I knew had even heard of Monty Python (I must have had crappy friends, godallmighty!). It was as if I had struck gold - finally people who shared my sense of humour! Couldn't get enough of the gang!

+issac lopez "Der Junge trinkt das Wasser" ;) "Der" is the male article. "Die" is female. But I know.. german articles are very very difficult and confusing for non-native speakers.
@slvrpltd
@slvrpltd 8 жыл бұрын
+tvchild76 "die" is not necessarily female. It is used in plural contexts too. Actually psycholinguistic experiments suggest that the mental representation of the syncretic "die" as well as strong adjectives ending with "-e" carry no morphosyntactic features regarding case, number and gender. See Opitz et al. 2013 and for female nouns Opitz & Pechmann 2014.

The automated subtitles think that the German phrase he said was "he can medina mile er Phyllida monitor". Seems about right.

Is there a John Cleese KZbin channel?? His comedy is just perfect. Is there a human on earth who doesn't find Mr. Cleese hilarious?

So does anyone know how one could find that skit they did in German? Because searching for "monty python german" predictably and frustratingly will only pull up page after page of German dubs.
