Based on the movie, you play as the Terminator that is programmed by Skynet to destroy John Connor and mankind before John Connor can reprogram a Terminator to send back in time to protect his younger self.

Because we want a cool way to see the future war as prequels to the events will happen in the T1 and T2 films. They're all war movies with time travel elements. I want to see more of that DARK AS NIGHT apocalyptic setting as the back drop for these HORROR stories. Cause they can be that again if they want to be. Or they can be stories with touching moments of humanity from the unlikeliest places again. Or they can be both like T2 was. But the next movies or episodic tv show involving terminator need to be set in the future war time line leading into the events of T1 and T2.

Plus Genisys pretty much shows the absolute fuck up when it comes to time travel. And even if you say John Connor is important then you have to think about "is he really"? Genisys also point the downside with someone having knowledge of what happened, and when Skynet has that knowledge then they can use it to keep itself from being erased. And John Connor became evil in that. So you have to think is thre any point if it goes nowhere and they are just doomed to repeat itself over and over again? And with John Connor he can either be humanity's saviour, or it's destroyer. If anything, both John Connor and Skynet keep cancelling each other out. Either one survives, or both gets erased And here's the thing about the whole thing. John Connor's knowledge in defeating the machines involves Skynet, and that system is gone. Skynet is gone, and so John Connor had no purpose anymore. And even if Skyne is gone that doesn't mean the system that makes it is gone too. A different system requires a different individual to combat it. With Legion comes Dani, and after Legion a different person will be the next to lead So the opion is either have them continue an endless loop were both sides are gone. Or just break the loop completely and have boh pieces gone for good. One or the other. And since Skynet is gone then John is nolonger needed

Dark Fate = Good, not great, but disappointing. Hollywood shouldn't make anymore Terminator movies and it's time for Arnie to retire from the role. Although I love Genisys, but it should had ended after T2. T2 had the perfect ending. The franchise has run out of steam and run out of ideas. Dark Fate could had been better. I wouldn't say it was the worst one.

The difference is the same T850 that killed him in this was the same one they reprogrammed to go back in time to stop the TX in ROTM and the terminator telling john he killed him can possibly create a paradox and john can be prepared for when he arrives and prevent him from killing him, and atleast with this death it doesn't shit on his legacy and didn't make his build up pointless like it did in DF.

I find it funny how in T3, T850 explained how he killed John by having Skynet using their father-son relationship from John’s childhood to make John hesitate/vulnerable enough to make the killing blow. I would pretend that in 2032, the infiltrator killed JohnConnkr before going back in time to 1998 to kill John Connor. Than it leads up to Dark Fate.

But John was the leader of the resistance already, he led humanity for quite awhile and became so dangerous that they sent plenty of prototype infiltration terminators to kill him. And it was successful here. Dark Fate killed him 2 years after Terminator 2 and literally replaced him with a Girl and changed the name. It really doesn't make any sense as to how that is more acceptable than this badass, more sad, more believable scene n storytelling.

Why couldnt they just do that? a mini series in the future? The Terminator 1-2 are complete, anymore of that formula is just redundant or takes away from what T2 has done but if you have to go for more show what happened in the future, the cause of the whole series. You could even show other characters, im sure many acts of heroism happened in this war, bonds and love, death and despair. You could tell a amazing war story from that, all leading into the first movie. Keep John Connor as a side character, not shown often but when you do see him he is clearly in control of the room, and his insight and strategies would be what carry the actual lead characters through the day, heck even have Kyle Reese as a side character as well working with the leads from time to time and it can all roll into a series finale with sending Reese back, thus triggering the entire series
